Beautiful Christmas music!!!
The Cd is available on Art Garfunkel's website but the actual price is $13. This is a great CD, heavenly music that I tend to play more than any of my other Christmas music, well done. 00 plus 3. 50 shipping and handling in the USA for a total of $16. 50.


Beautiful, best-kept (and hard-to-find!) Christmas secret
Featured in Amy Grant's 1986 Christmas TV special, the choral and orchestral work is beyond description. The "Words from an Old Spanish Carol / Carol of the Birds" suite is easily one of the most breathtaking, exalting pieces I've ever heard. It still brings tears to my eyes twenty years later. As many have stated, the lyrics are a critical part of the experience.

If I have any quibble, it is that the key of each piece shows uniform deference to Art Garfunkel and the children's choir while Grant is frequently left with parts that don't quite fit her rich alto or her stylistic approach. But this is a mild problem.

As with other reviewers, I recommend you snap this one up. If you can find it!.


An Amazing Album
The blend of Jimmy Webb's music, Art Garfunkel, Amy Grant, the children's chorus and orchestra make an angelic musical story. The Animal's Christmas is one of the most beautiful, inspiring albums I've ever heard. Treat yourself and get this CD. You won't be disappointed!.

Jimmy Webb's powerful storytelling talent is at it's peak with this one. I first listened to this when it was originally released- it haunts me still. How many people can make you cry when they write tunes about frogs, and camels, and even the cat who lived at the inn? It has an ephemeral innocence, with a dark side that peeks through. Don't miss this one!.


THE Christmas album!!
I have not always cared for all of his solo work,however. I have always been a fan of Art Garfunkels. Some of it seemed a little lightweight. "The Animals Christmas"is in my opinion,his very best work. It showcases his velvety smooth tenor voice that is perfectly suited to the imaginative music of Jimmy Webb's score. The lyrics are reverential to the subject and offer the message of Christ's birth in a most interesting way. The amazing track"The carol of the birds"is the most joyous and declaritive Christmas anthem I have heard outside of Handels "Messiah"!!It is great news that this album is once again available-now everybody click on the purchase button and BUY it!.
