Amazon on-line samples reflect 1 CD track short Like the earlier review which states that there is one missing CD track, the samples offered on Amazon miss one and puts the tracks out of order near the last track.
Great Collection
this collection while relatively light because you can't possibly do Marvin Gaye Musical Justice on Only one disc, does have Classic Material here that sounds better as time passes by. Marvin Gaye is One of my all time Favorite Artists Ever. Great songs&sound.
Excellent...
I passed on the SACD version and opted for the DVD-Audio instead. Marvin gaye is a a classic R&B performer - very smooth indeed. I have many of both types and both formats have incredible soundfields. There are "no" flaws on the DVD-Audio version. Every track is full-bodied and fills the room. . . A must have.
Good Collection Just Too Short
The SACD Layer sound quality is excellent with the exception of I Heard It Through The Grapevine which I guess simply was not recorded at all well in the first place. This is an excellent short collection. It stands out the sound quality is so bad compared to any other song.
The really bad news is that this first run of the CD has a defect on the the regular CD Layer as properly outlined in the review on Amazon. ca.
It shows 12 songs (there are only 11) on the regular CD Layer, but the first 2 songs are simply the first song spread across 2 tracks with some bad digital artifacts across the 2 tracks that make it unlistenable.
As long as you don't ever want to play it as a regular CD it is fine. Hopefully Universal/Motown will correct the problem and give us all a defect free CD. At these prices, there should be no defects. Where you buy the CD does not change things. It must have been a problem with the source material.
