'Expected more from the 70's legend
Long an admirer of the artist, I rushed out and purchased the disc. Gloria Gaynor, songstress responsible for possibly the greatest disco anthem of all ("I Will Survive"), seemingly "rose from the dead" with this 1995 offering. Unfortunately, it did not live up to my expectations.

While some of the selections are enjoyable ("Strive", "Remember", and "Joy"), the remakes of songs associated with others sadly fall short. Disco versions of standards like "I'll Be There", "You're the First, The Last, My Everything", "I Say a Little Prayer," and an embarrassingly awful "I Will Always Love You" makes one wonder who guided this mess. "Oh, Happy Day" will have church choirs cringing.

Even her classic "Survive" gets a rotten treatment here.

A "diva" can make a misstep every now and then.

GLORIA GAYNOR IS THE QUEEN OF DISCO
I've heard it before. Yes, that duet with Isaac Hayes is really good. I had to order this CD from another auction house. Too bad they don't have it in stock here. Gloria also has a new CD out called "The Millenium Dance" that has her all her 1990s dance mixes like "Oh What A Life" "Set Me Free" "First Be A Woman" "Perfect World" and more.

looking for "I'II be there"
Gaynor sings with Isaac Hayes(I'm not sure about the tittle, could be "You're my everything"?,by Barry White). Since last year,I'm looking for that CD,because I heard by radio, one song that G. It's not easy to find here, where I live, so, if you find that music for me, I'd be very apricciated. But only on this performance.
