Girlschool - 'King Biscuit Flower Hour' (King Biscuit)
Some may not remember, but MOST of those Sunday night shows on the King Biscuit wouldn't air the artist's entire set. Another really great rocking release from the radio show that used to be a Sunday night ritual for true FM rock&roll fans. The King Biscuit label has seen to it to release EACH artist's gig complete. This fifteen song set by the heavy-duty Girlschool really treats fans of the all girl ensemble to something special. Even thought every track kicks ass,the more memorable tunes are "Play Dirty","Hit And Run","Demolition Boys",their ZZ Top cover "Tush","C'mon,Let's Go" and "Race With The Devil"(my personal Girlschool favorite). Includes a ten page booklet packed with interesting facts. Such as,did you know before the band became Girlschool that guitarist Kathy Valentine(Go-Go's) was with them?I hung out with the girls after catching a gig of theirs. They told me they'd like to be remembered as the female alter ego of Motorhead.

Solid Live Album
Their performance is solid and there's a good selection of material. I saw Girlschool play live almost 20 years ago and was impressed at how good a show they did so i was intrigued when i saw this cd. They hadn't started using keyboards live yet so the music still has a raw guitar sound.
The lineup is Kelly Johnson(lead guitar -vocals)Kim Mcauliffe(vocals-guitar)Denise Dufort(drums),Gil Weston(bass).

This is worth getting if you like heavy guitars and catchy vocals.

Live Girlschool!
Valentines day Massacre" with Motorhead, featuring the song "please don't touch". I first heard Girlschool when they made the "St. So I went and bought the Girlschool album and later their next album "Screaming Blue Murder". I had kind of forgotten about them until I came across them here on Amazon. com. This live cd is pretty good. I don't remember hearing some of the songs ,but "Hit and Run" and "Screaming Blue murder",2 of my favorites, are on there. I saw them open for the Scorpions and they really could rock! While this doesn't capture the true energy of being there in person,it comes pretty close. The guitars come through loud and clear and there's always the rythm of the thundering drum beat and pounding bass lines. The vocals are a very pleasant change compared to what was then an all male voalist metal scene. Were they the first "heavy metal" girl group?I would say so. I think any Girlschool fan would like this.
