Customer Review One of my favorite GE albums, easily They're extremely talented, and they've been around longer than The Stones, but they have so many songs that range from "ok" to "horrible". Golden Earring certainly can be a fustrating band to follow. Albums like 'Contraband', 'No Promises, No Debts', 'Switch', and early albums like 'Just Earrings' and 'Miracle Mirror' have very little or nothing at all to offer. NEWS, on the other, hand is one of their albums that I can enjoy all the way from start to finish. Okay, so the odd rap-like title track isn't so hot, but who can argue with the likes of "When The Lady Smiles", "I'll Make It All Up To You", and "Clear Nite Moonlight"? And "Mission Impossible", while NOT a hit, even in their home country, stands as the only GE song other than their two main hits that I've heard on the radio here in the States. That was pretty exciting, I have to say. Basically, Golden Earring rocks, but you have to wade through a lot of crap to get to the good stuff. Honestly, very rarely do you come across an album of theirs that is solid from start to finish, like Bloody Buccaneers, Moontan, Cut, and Together. For me, N. E. W.
