Customer Reviews Better than a greatest hits album The cover has been modified slightly, so it now looks like one of those cheesey budget imports. This is a re-issue of a CD originally released in 1989. It says that it is "Remastered". I don't know why that would be necessary. The original had very good sound quality. I would suggest getting the original version, as it is half the price and still available. This is basically a greatest hits album. But, it is better than most greatest hits albums, because includes tracks beyond the hits. That is probably because Golden Earing never had enough AM radio hits to fill a CD. So, you get tracks like Vanilla Queen that normally wouldn't be on a greatest hits album. The song selection is excellent, and most of their best stuff is captured here. There are few good tracks that did not make it, like Intro, from the Switch album. Also, nothing from their early days is included. This type of album is perfect for Golden Earing. They have a handful of amazing songs. But, most of their work is just garbage. The album Moontan (which contains Radar Love) is an excpetion, most of the songs are great. On the rest of Golden Earing's albums, there are only one or two good songs per album. Some, like Bloody Buccaneers don't have a single track worth hearing. Golden Earing is a Dutch band formed in 1964. On earlier albums, they were called The Golden Earings. On one their earlier albums, they do an 18 minute version of the Byrd's 8 Miles High. They were very obscure, until they 1972 smash hit Radar Love. They were probably the oldest and most popular one hit wonders. But, they finally got another hit in 1982 with Twilight Zone. They are still around today. .
A very diverse band
