Not Beautiful Midnight
If you're not a big fan of MG then stick to Beautiful Midnight and his solo work. Not a great CD, but if you're a big Matthew Good fan it's worth buying.

Wow.
This album is amazing. Wow. I really don't see why people are giving this album bad reveiws. I haven't heard much other music by Matthew Good (the only other songs that i've heard by him are Indestructable (which is a good song) and Alert Status Red (which is not))

I would recommend this album to anybody. Vermillion has a great bass riff that gives me shivers every time i listen to it, Symbolistic White Walls has this feeling to it that reeks of anger and impatiance. Native Son has a great intro to it and absolutely awsome refrain that has some of the best lyrics on the album, and it has some great keys parts during the post-refrain/pre-verse parts, and another great bass part during the bridge.

The only bad parts of the album are Every Name is My Name, which has good lyrics but lacks the music. It's more of a poem than a song. But, this song is still great compared to crap like good charlotte and simple plan. The other bad part is Alabama Motel Room, which is O. K. during the first listen, but gets boring, and i usually skip it when i'm listening to the album.

What [junk].
But it is terrible. This is my favourite band in the whole world, so when I bought their debut album I thought it was going to be good. Matthew Good hates this album, and with good reason. It is awful. The songs are mediocre; they put the album together fast, put very little money into it and it shows. Compared to their best album, "Beautiful Midnight", "LotGA" is awful. I give this album two stars, simply because it has one redeeming quality, "Omissions of the Omen. " It is an excellent song, even though it isn`t mentioned in the track listing. It`s a hidden track that that comes after "The War Is Over" and it`s definitely worth waiting for.

Great Band, Great 1st Albumn
Even at MGB's worst Last of the Ghetto Astronauts is far better than 80 percent of the music out there. I would disagree with those who have rated the albumn a 2 or 3. As mentioned by everyone here Alabama Motel Room rocks, but Haven't Slept In Years and Symbolistic White Walls are both great songs that should be given a lot more credit than they have been. I have seen MGB in concert at least half a dozen times and in all they have played Symbolistic once at my first concert and it blew me away. I think that the songs on the albumn are great (even if they aren't as focused as those on Underdogs or Beautiful), and MGB should bring them back out of the wood work in a live albumn.
