Pleasant Surprise
I remember hearing "Face The Day", but I never got around to finding what cd it was on. I have several Great White cd's, but I never bought this one from their early days. So now that I just bought it, I found out that, not only do they have more good songs like "Face The Day" on the cd, I don't even thing that is the best one. I think "Shot in the Dark" (from the title of their album) is even better. This song blew me away. It's awesome! This song should be just as popular as Ozzy's same title song "Shot in the Dark". Of course they are two very different songs. The cd also starts off with a really good song "Shake It", which you won't be able to shake the music out of your mind. My 5 yr. old son, kept singing it after he heard it. Anyway, if you like albums like, Once Bitten, Twice Shy, Hooked, and Psycho City, you will love this one.

Album info
I feel that others praise the album well enough. More info than review. I have loved this album for a long time and was disappointed by the original Capitol issue. I don't own this edition, but I do own the original LP issued by Greenworld/Telegraph. The album was picked up by Capitol shortly after and for years that was the only available CD. Consequently the songs were affected by the label jump. Enjoy the disc in its initial release!! .

Oldie, but a goodie.
Great to listen to it again. Been waiting for this on CD for many years!!! I only had it on cassette before. Some of their best work, if you like their earlier music with a harder edge. The sound is a little different than the tape--possible it is from it being digitally remastered.

Shot in the Dark
I've been a fan of GW since 1984, when the Black album came out and have been a fan ever since. This is by far one of GW's best in my book. I was totally amazed when Shot in the Dark came out. I was in the music store the day it was released and played the tape so much it skreeched. With songs like Shot in the Dark and Face the Day, it shows where the roots of Once Bitten, Twice Shy, Hooked and Psyco City stem from. If your a serious GW fan, you have to have this cd in you collection. With all this said you have to include the ballads Waiting for love and Runaway. Slower songs yes but what an edge they display. One of the 80's best recordings if you ask me. GET IT !.

A phenomenal early release
The songs range from mellow to outright ballsy, and i agree that "Shot in the Dark" should be on the Greatest Hits collections. This CD is as mature and complete an album a young band can produce. It truly is a great tune!.
