Some of their best music every This CD is good with a few of their best songs to date. Ok I have been a huge Great White fan form the "shot in the dark days" so I know their music. "Was it the Night" is a amazing song that brings me back to Phycho City sound. : "now that was an amazing cd". Here goes my head again is another great song and Just Yesterday really hits home. Not their best cd but has some ture gems for any great white fan to enjoy.
The shark returns....
After a hiatus, the whole club burning down deal, and a reunion. . . GW returns to form on this cd. Its really 3 and a half stars for this one, its perfectly solid. A little heavier than the previous effort, Can't Get There from Here, but some good material on both. Everyone is back. . . . Jack Russell, Mark Kendall, Audie Desbrow, Mike Lardie, and Sean McNabb. A stable lineup always helps. .
one of the best bands ever!!
c. i never leave comments and dont usually even read them but since its great white i just want too !i got hooked !on them back when lady red light was all over the radio and have loved them since i have seen them 4 times i think over the years and everytime i have seen them they were awesome they do live as good or better than anybody! usually if they werent the headline band they opened the show and rocked it out and sounded better than whoever was the opening band they make rock and roll standup and salute save all your love is the best ballad ever written, and sung by jack russel who has one if not the best vocals ever keep rockin great white and keep true to the rock and roll for those who have seen these guys in action do you remember the goosebumps you got when they rocked i do !! cant wait to get this new album back to the rythm! thanks great white for all the songs you do this buds for you! keep on rockin just like you always have !mike in n. .
great white
great white rocks on this cd!your collection won't be complete without cd in it!-10-stars.
Great to have them back
They had talent to spare, and their music had a sense of soul and integrity that most of their peers in the hair metal scene could never hope to match. Every time I hear a Great White album I end up scratching my head and wondering why this band never became bigger stars. Plus, regardless of musical trends, in all their years in the business they've never released a bad album.
2007's Back to the Rhythm is their latest offering, and is the first album in a while to feature the (mostly) original lineup. It's also a bit more laid back than I expected. Don't get me wrong, there are some great upbeat rockers on this album (Still Hungry and the title track come to mind), but for the most part the band focused on the more melodic, bluesy aspect of their sound, which is one of their major strengths. Here Goes My Head Again is a great example of this sound (and is probably Back to the Rhythm's best track), and songs like I'm Alive and How Far is Heaven (gorgeous solo on that one), while decidedly mellow, are just so damned beautiful you have to love them. Like Whitesnake's comeback album Good To Be Bad, Back to the Rhythm is a smart, smooth and soulful rock album that proves Great White only gets better with age.
If you're a Great White fan, you probably don't need anyone to tell you that Back to the Rhythm is worth buying. It may not rock as hard as Once Bitten. . . or Shot in the Dark, but it's still a terrific rock album and a worthy addition to the Great White discography.
