Awesome
I've been a Fan of the Spoon since day one and was overly pleased when they finally released their full length lp, as a collector i purchased the US pressing along side the Australian pressing and wasent expecting much of a change. . so the pros's US version: well they fixed the artwork, put a group photo on the back cover, + added 2 songs from their old eps. cons: the tracklisting has changed, its missing one of their most popular songs 'just Ace' which gets flogged to death by every Australian cover band known to mankind, & the in your face opener 'Pressure Tested 1984' is pushed back to track 6, + all the softer songs have been removed for the harder rarer tracks from Grinspoons 1st 2 eps, overall this LP still packs a punch even if it is 10 years old and before Nu-metal f**ked music up the a$$, higly recommended.

METAL GUIDE TO THE GALAXY
Picture a young, crownless James Hetfield fronting a more melodic Cannibal Corpse and scowling at barracuda record executive types as in "NBT", or 'next big thing'. Australian metal band with a philosophical handle on star-struck hit making angst, battling the demons of rock and roll success via cool control over thumping bass line guitar, bewildered teen vocals, and just enough tender reverb to give the songs memorable hooks and riffs. If this sounds a bit pompous, it comes across as a genuine love of metal in familiar thump and grind structures that often slip into quieter, more thoughtful angst, as in the nearly apologetic, metal defending, "Bad Funk Stripe", and the fluid, bar-gazing, "Repeat". The band's individual roles aren't credited on the CD, but the vocals, scowling and lung busting one moment, meek and vulnerable the next, give the band both a youthful zest and wizened maturity.

Best Aussie Rock Album Ever
You will not waste a cent. If you like Helmet, Primus, Godsmack, Snot, Korn and such, get this CD ASAP. "Post Enebriated Anxiety" is definitely following the roots of Helmet and White Zombie. "More Than You Are" is a great punk-metal anthem to listen along with, but my favorite is "Repeat", in which the tune sounds a lot like Snot's and Helmet's offspring. "Black Friday" is also a good song. A definite must-have for any post-grunge or alternative metal fan. .

Solid Aussie Rock
While a lot of it is pure thrashing, metal-sounding stuff, the best songs from the cd are actually the interuptions in this frenzy. This, is bar none, the best Aussie rock band recording today. Just Ace, Repeat, and my personal favourite, Bad Funk Stripe, are all incredible songs. Plus there's a live version of one of their previous hits, More Than You Are. Give this cd a chance and you can't go wrong. Also check out Grinspoon's newest cd, New Detention. Chemical Heart, Lost Control, and No Reason are amazing tracks off of that cd. No matter which cd you choose, though, pick up a Grinspoon cd, you'll be glad you did.

Needs a bit of improvment
I can't believe all you people are writing all these good reviews about this album, when half of the songs i can't bare listening to anymore. Pretty good album by Grinspoon, but needs alot of work, there are some real good songs like "Post Enebriated Anxiety, "Black Friday,"More Than You Are", "Pedestrian" "Bad Funk Stripe" and "Sickfest" but the rest are really bad.
