Charming and cozy How can you not love it? If you've always loved the soundtrack to the Charlie Brown shows, this CD will be a treasure! SACD is just the icing on the cake!. The picture on the CD says it all.
the music was so clear and relaxing. the music kind of makes you happy.
I played it on Christmas Day for my guest and it was a hit. I really enjoyed the cd that i ordered and it is so clear and perfect. The music was perfect dinner music without being so holiday.
an intro to jazz
It is quite possible that the songs on this disc are they very first jazz recordings I have ever heard. I remember the Charlie Brown specials on TV when I was very young and enjoyed both the stories and the music. The hybrid SACD is great as I can listen to the CD layer in my car, and then hear the hi-rez layer on my home system. The DSD stream has a smoother, more analog sound than the PCM. The performance by the Vince Guraldi Trio is fantastic. I have played this disc a few times for friends without telling them that it is a Charlie Brown film soundtrack and they ask me what that great jazz disc is. They are surprised when I tell them what it is. I have to tell them before the disc gets to track 6 (Linus And Lucy) because that song is a familiar theme and gives the idenity of the disc away. The only thing I don't like about this disc is that it does not have a 5. 1 surround mix, only stereo. .
Charlie Brown SACD Goodness
Of all of them, I think piano comes out sounding the best and sounding the most real. The more SACD's I get, the more impressed I get with the sound. This CD is no exception. It sounds like I have Vince Guaraldi playing piano right in my living room.
The music is pretty good and brings back the familiarity of the Charlie Brown TV specials.
