Turn up the Music, words to live by!
When songs like "Red" and "Turn up the Music" started to be played on the radio I wanted to hear more and bought this album. I've owned multiple copies of Montrose's first album and the rest of the albums with Sammy as the vocalist.

It remains an excellent live recording, although too short by today's standards, it contains some of Sammy's best early years songs. His band with the "Electric" Bill Church on bass, Denny Carmassi on drums and Gary Pihl on guitar, was a very tight unit. Interestingly Pihl would leave to join Boston for later albums.

My favorites are "Turn up the Music" and "Bad Motor Scooter", both from the 70's hard rock uptempo school. Bad Motor does unfortunately fade out somewhere before the end of the song. The lesser known "Young Girl Blues" is a cover of an old Donovan tune, that starts out slow and builds to a climax.
When this was released it may not have been metal, but it had lots of guitars and rock swagger, so get it and turn it up! .

a classic live album
All Night Long mixes songs from Sammy's first couple of solo albums with a few Montrose classics. 1978's All Night Long is the red rocker's first live album. All Night Long is a great live album full of energy. Highlights include: Red, Rock n Roll Weekend, Make it Last, I've Done Everything for you, and Bad Motor Scooter. It is my understanding that All Night Long has been reissued as an import titled Loud and Clear with Montrose's Space Station # 5 added, bringing the album up to 8 songs. If you can find All Night Long get it!!!!!!!!!!.

Classic Sammy
I must have cut all new grooves in the vinyl. All night long, that's what I played over and over. I loved playing it loud when the house was empty. The music was real, no synthesisers and all metal.
"You've done nothing for me" the title and lyrics was every young teenage boys frustration after the first HS dance.
The classic "Bad Motoor Scooter" this was not about the "Pet Shop Boys" (MTV-1986).
I really can hum along all the songs and "Make it Last".
The most unfortunate event occured when I left home and left my Vinyl with my Brother. Hopefully its still in his crate? If I could ever get the Vinyl cover autographed by the "Red Rocker" tm. That would be great.

Synonymous with "Loud & Clear" ???
As I haven't actually heard the afore mentioned CD, I can't say for certain. For those of you interested in buying this CD, I can't say for certain, but it's my understanding that "Loud & Clear" by Sammy Hagar is the same CD, except it's the European version with a different cover. But I thought that anyone interested in buying this CD should be aware of this. So until this CD is re-issued, consider "Loud & Clear" as an alternative (presumably "Loud & Clear" has been re-mastered as well).

Play it loud

Great guitar, brilliant vocals and with Bill Church on bass, it is the album to listen in the car. This is quite simply the definitive live hard rock album. So wind down your window as you pass the old folks home and turn up the volume.
One gripe. . . there has to be I suppose, WHO ON EARTH decided to fade out on Bad Motor Scooter! Just as Sammy was getting going.
Don't let that deter you, go and buy it.
