wife loves it
Great sound worth every penny!!. Got this for the wife and she just loves it.

From the early sammy days, After Montrose, pre-warner brothers, years away from Van Halen
Included in this collection is his song "I've done everything for you", which rick springfield re-did on his album in 1981 and made a hit of. This is a compilation of songs of the early sammy solo years, the real "red rocker" years. . . It's still sammy's song. I was not as familiar with his work from this time era since I grew to know him during his 80's run and with Van Halen, but this is a great album to have to complete his time post Montrose to pre-warner brothers days (albums like 3 lock box, Standing hampton, VOA Etc). Check it out, affordable, great for the sammy collection. Get this with Unboxed and the red collection, a 3 disc collection that almost completes sammy. . . pick up montrose's greatest hits, you have it covered.

From the Capitol years...

This disc is like a re-issue of that 1992 album, but is missing 4 tracks, while track 1, "Red", is actually from his early self-titled album (and not "live" as stated on the CD, and not remixed as it appears under the other compilation). Made in USA in 1999, Serial# 72435-21097-2-2, Playing Time 38:37

This CD is a compilation of material of his early solo years, up to the "Street Machine" album, plus track 3 from a single first issued on album on "Rematch", plus track 8 from the 1992 14-track compilation "The Best Of".

Nothing from "Danger Zone", his last album for Capitol records, and nothing from his 1st solo effort, "Nine On A Ten Scale".

Overall, a fair compilation of his early solo work; track 8, a re-make of the oldie "Sittin' On The Dock Of The Bay", which I dislike, seems completely out of place after the smokin' song "Trans Am".

I honestly don't recommend this to anyone because it's a little short: go for the alternative 14-track version of "The Best Of" instead, and/or the "Unboxed" CD, which covers the Geffen years.

The Best
This CD is great since it has some of Sammy Hagar's best songs all in one for me to hear. I love listening to Sammy Hagar. I don't have to have all his CD's out to hear the songs I want to hear. It is worth the purchase.
