Behold -classic metal
What more could you ask for. Modern metal done in the classic style of Manowar,Judist Priest, Scorpions,Saxon,Deep Purple, etc. .

This IS power metal!
However, Threshold is the perfect balance of thunderous drums, monstrous guitars, enduring melodies, and powerful vocals. These Swedish power-metallers are not quite as fast as Helloween, not quite as loud as Manowar, not quite as spaced-out as Gamma Ray, and not quite as bizarre as the Dungeons & Dragon themed fair (or is it Lord of the Rings now?). This IS power metal!.

The Templars Are Still Rockin'
The ones I really liked were: Threshold, The Fire Burns Forever, Rebel Inside, Dark Wings, Dark Words, Shadow Empire, Carved In Stone and Genocide. When I picked up this new CD, I immediately liked it, but not all of the songs though. But I had heard that Jocaim had just had plastic surgery done due to an accident, and this CD was qucikly released probably of left over songs, but I still felt that the selection of songs were pretty good.

Typical HammerFall...but very average at best
It's still good power metal, but it sounds very much the same as Chapter V or Crimson Thunder. I've been a fan of HammerFall for about 7 or 8 years now and I have to say that there's nothing too impressive about this album. Personally, I think each of their albums after Renegade have gotten worse. . . more predictable, very basic drum work, etc. Worth a listen or 2, but nothing that stands out here. If you're interested in this band, stick with getting Glory To The Brave or Legacy Of Kings before anything else.

TRUE METAL LIVES WITH HAMMERFALL
They were doing it long before it was cool again. First I want to begin by saying HammerFall is without a doubt the kings of the new bands to carry on traditional metal. Now that that the history lesson is out of the way lets talk Threshold. This album is one of my favorite all time Heavy Metal albums. I would put it up there with Screaming For Vengeance (Judas Priest) & Piece Of Mind (Iron Maiden) it's that good! Every thing is here you could want. Great melodies, some of Can's best vocals, chainsaw guitars, tasteful leads, just the right amount of double bass drums, solid bass guitar and of course the head banging anthems! HammerFall could teach traditional metal they are so good at it and yet they still manage to sound like themselves. This was a return to greatness after the Chapter V release which was good but not great like they have done. If you like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Accept, Dio etc you will love HammerFall. Metal Lives on with HammerFall! I had the unique opportunity to see them with Dio in Detroit and they threw down! Awesome! .
