Disregard the jazz-heads who rate low.
" I happen to be interested in Head Hunters, Maiden Voyage, AND Future Shock. "If you're looking for more head hunter type stuff th[e]n look elsewhere. Cheesy synths, yes, but oblivious? Absolutely not. Here is a jazz legend producing mainstream music both comically and innovatively. To know Herbie has such a side dramatically expands the breadth of his abilities and to disregard this is a shame. I think anyone that refuses to include Future Shock as an example of Hancock's brilliance needs to reconsider the range of his or her taste in sounds.

I love Herbie - but what was he thinking?
I LOVE Herbie, probably my favortie Jazz player of all time. If I could give a zero I would. But this album is a must miss. If you have seen Beverly Hills Cop - then you have heard the dated 80's track 'Rockit'.

Watch the movie, skip the CD!.

Love Herbie but...
The first track i love and is a classic of course. This album did nothing for me. Lots of electronics with the occasional cheesy lyrics. . . If you're looking for more head hunter type stuff than look elsewhere. .
