There are no words to describe the thought that was put into this album which is why the Amazon editorial review holds absolutely no water. Welcome to the Cruel World is one of the most beautiful albums I have ever listened to. You must simply listen.

"Walk Away" and "Forever" are, in my opinion, two of the most moving songs I've heard. .

well. . hmm. . i only got this cd because of "forever" for my girlfriend. i myself am a ben harper fan. only a handful of good songs out of 14. but if you like ben harper than this cd should be in your collection.

Very Good and enjoyed listening to Welcome to the Cruel World by Ben Harper but unfortunate when I first rated it I accidently confused it with another CD by Ben Harper so I'd like to apologize to you readers and liked to change my rating to 5 / out of 5 stars for Welcome to the Cruel World .

Great songs!
Also, you'll find "Waiting On An Angel" on the album. Harper offers a great interpretation of Maya Angelou's I'll Rise poem. The song, if you don't know, was featured in the Lines in the Sand episode of the television show House, m. d. .

Another Ben Harper...
Great lyrics and nice melodic rhythms. Couple of great tracks a couple hokey tracks. Overall a good album to own.
