Painful beautiful A thoughtful and meditative album.
A direct hit again by Emmylou. Painful beautifully. One of my favorite albums besides Wreckin Ball.
Some really gorgeous songs on here

Beautiful and haunting
Her voice has a great range and a lot of feeling, whether it's joy or saddness. EmmyLou Harris is a talented singer. She typically sings more meloncholy songs, but they have so much feeling, they are enjoyable. The most moving song on this CD is A Prayer for The Cowgirl. This is one of my favorite Emmylou CDs. I should point out that I am not a big country music fan.
Good one
My husband is a big fan of Emmylou, and when he opened this CD at Christmas, said, "I was just going to order this!" He absolutely loves it.
Good Country Music!
Emmylou has a great voice and this is a good album but something of Emmylou's power is missing which she had in 70's. I think that this album is quite smooth and great but unfortunately it is too relaxing. Sure, the fans will love many of the songs, such as "The Light" and "A Ways to Go". I really like this album but it has some fillers. . . "You Don't Know Me" and "I Hear a Call". "Jerusalem Tomorrow" is quite dizzy but somehow I like it. "High Powered Love" is one of my favorites in this album, it's quite a powerful song. Emmylou was still making good country music in 90's. After that, she had a great success with "Wrecking Ball" which was quite different but good.
Stars: The Light, High Powered Love, A Ways to Go.
