I'd give it zero stars if I could! When you buy a CD with someone's name and PICTURE on the front AND back cover you would think that they probably would be the one singing, right??? Nope. I was so MAD after listening to this CD that I tried to contact Emmylou to see if she had any part in it! I have been a fan of hers for more years than I care to consider, and this is the first time I felt totally ripped off and, to think of it, betrayed by my faith in her. Not the case of this CD. AND "Nobody's Darlin' but Mine", a country classic (it was published in 1935) is not credited to it's writer, Jimmie Davis. "All songs written by Carl Jackson . . . except When My Blue Moon Turns to Gold . . . and Gone, Gone, Gone. " I call that copyright infringement. And I call this CD a lyin' piece of, well, you know.
Euro-trash
I've no idea how you can take a well-known artist like Emmylou and put her picture and name on a CD and she isn't really even on it. well, it turns out this CD comes from Belgium. Ya, sure, one song. Maybe in the background. I'd return this thing if it was still in the plastic wrap. I'm really dissapointed in Amazon selling junk like this. Surly there is a way to pull this CD off the search list when you type in Emmylou. This is pure deception. The CD is not even listed on Emmylou's web site.
Scam
There is a second album now being presented in the same manner: caveat emptor!! I would give a rating of zero stars, but that's not an option, unfortunately. This is NOT an Emmylou Harris album! It is, however, a deliberately misleading repackaging of an album by some nameless singer who had been fortunate enough to have Emmylou sing lead on one of his songs and is now flogging his album as an "Emmylou Harris" album to generate sales.
Boo hiss
When I buy an Emmylou Harris album, I expect to hear her as lead on a majority of the cuts. This disk is a wolf in sheep's clothing. Not here! If I wanted Carl Jackson, I would have bought Carl Jackson. This is probably the last E. Harris album I'll ever get; I feel that ripped off!! When I need an Emmylou fix, I'll just listen to one of the 16 I already have. This latest product is going in the pile that goes to the next dog shelter rummage sale. I hope they can get a buck for it--that's about all it's worth. I'd like my $13. 99 back.
Still a great cd.
If your buying this for Emmy Lou you will be disappointed, if your buying because your looking for solid classic country music your gonna hit the jack pot. I'm a fan to real country music and I hear plenty of it here, but I can also see where the Emmy Lou fans are disappointed the cover is very misleading. .
