Take the stairs
It's not worthy of these celebrated names. I wish I'd taken the trouble to scroll down and read the reviews before I got this album. I first heard Richie Havens live in the '60s and have been a fan ever since. How could he have produced this? What's with the cheap dinner-cruise synthesizer? It's an abomination. If this were playing in your elevator you'd take the stairs.

An Abortion of Sound
Richie Havens is just too talented to produce this kind of trash. This music is seriously the worst thing I have ever heard. Two thumbs down, way down. .

Havens - not what you'd expect
The "Here Comes The Sun" is NOT his hit single, but a re-do of the cover he orignally did in the sixties. I was excited to order this item, only to find it had been produced in 1987 and was part of trying to move Richie onto another, younger, "hipper" audience. All in all, I was disappointed in the overall sound and production of the songs, except for one or two Dylan tunes. Only for immense fans.

An Abysmal Recording
I was so excited to hear Ritchie Havens perform the music of my 2 biggest influences. I couldn't believe what I was hearing with this. . . but I was sorely disappointed. What the other negative reviews have said are correct. . . that while the amazing voice is still there, the synths and drum machines are horrible.

In my mind, the only 2 tracks that fully capture the true genius of Ritchie Havens are "Working Class Hero" and "License to Kill". . . which are stellar, and the only reason this got 2 stars instead of one.

Still got a powerfull voice
The voice is still there but it could have been done better. I'm not too sure who thought up using the Synthesizer instead of Richie's powerful guitar but it was not a good idea.
