If remotely like Savage Garden..... Crush is very up beat and reminds me of I Want You. You'll love this cd. The duet with Elisa is great and really shows what Darren is capable of doing, musically. So if you're a product of the 80's and have enjoyed other Darren Hayes' masterpieces, you'll definately want this!.
Musical journey to the past I've grown in Russia and it means difference in language, culture, movies and etc. I'm younger than Darren Hayes and I have my own memories about that time. It's very private song. You can imagine young Darren, his dreams, hobbies and hopes. It's like greeting card from the past. But I love both music, lyric and video of this song. It's dance, catchy and warm. One of the best at his solo album "Spin".
A Crush on Darrens latest Being an 80's child, I found myself completely charmed by this song. In Crush, Darren takes us back to a time filled with childhood memories. Not only does he sound just as amazing as always, he's especially playful here. Mentioning 'E. T. ' and ''wishng he was his friend'' was just one of the highlights. In this single, It starts with the Album Version, which includes a great synthisized sound. The lyrics flow along like a breeze. You expierence Darren's excitemenet & joyfulness. It's as if he has let us all viset a few of his fondest memories. The Mayday ''Disco Buiscuit''Mix instantly speeds things up without loosing the feel of the song. With the tempo raised, you can't help but want to sing along . The biggest suprise comes next with The Strange Relationship F'Mix. While the upbeat tempo remains, This song has a feel all of it's own. This is an excellent remix. The original sound of the song clearly remains, while the interesting mix of guitars and horns with Darren's voice combine to make the song even more entertaining. As an especially added treat, there is an Acoustic Version of Insatiable, ( Live In The Capital Radio Living Room). I love this song to beigin with, and to hear it with only the beautiful, angelic sound of Darren's voice is nothing short of a heavenly expierence! If your a fan you will be amazed!.

THE EIGHTIES RETURN IN A BIG WAY Many will describe this song as CHEESY. Crush, the third Australian single from Darren's stunning debut album is his dedication to the year 1984 when he was an eleven year old growing up in Australian suburbia. . . . well it is! That's half the fun. Darren wasn't attempting to write a poignant song here. That is not what the eighties were about anyway. What is important is that this song is extremely catchy and delivered with darren's unique style. I guarantee that the tune will not leave your head for a very long time, if ever. The lyrics are also quite fun if you can make them out. . . . he goes as fast as Savage Garden's monster debut "I Want You". I love his reference to ET: "I wish that I could be eleven again, when ET was my friend. . . . "
