Fantastic
This album has great song after great song. This is a must own for your collection. Listened to it back when it came out and am pleased I could pick it up so cheap now. Check it out, you won't be disappointed. .

Songwriter
This is the best version, and it should have been the first and last CD version. I bought this album originally on vinyl back in 1977, then again in the 90s with two extra tracks, and now with four extra tracks. This is Justin's second best solo album, only behind The View From the Hill. A must have for any Hayward/Moodies fan.

most of what Justin Hayward writes touches me deeply.
" Somehow missed it. I have just ordered "Songwriter. I have the DVD of him performing in San Juan Capistrano, Ca. with his personal band. The last song is called, "Raised in Love. " That song. . . . . . . . wow. I cried and cried and cried, because I too was raised in love and so many people were not. I wish that each and every human being could be cherished and loved. This song is deeply profound and sung with sweetness and vulnerabilty. There is something about him that brings me in touch with myself in a way that is very fulfilling and healing. Also, on the Moodies' Children's Children album, his song, "Watching & Waiting," is also a song that really gets to me. It brings up the feeling in me, that I don't belong on a planet where there is hatred, greed, selfishness, and war. I want to be where there is love, consideration, respect, and caring for one another. . . and I feel this from him as well. He sings what my heart feels. I thank Justin for his great talent and I respect him greatly.

First Solo
This is a must-have for anyone interested in good music. Justin Hayward is a wonderful songwriter and singer. The songs are well written, fun and interesting. Family members and friends joined in the recording. And. hard as it may be to believe, Justin only gets better from here!.

70's music style! but worth having for a Justin fan.
But we are Moody Fans in this household, so we own all their music!. Although I did not enjoy the style of Justins music in this CD as the "Moving Mountains" or the really GREAT "View from the hill" (which is definetly 5 STARS *****), due to it's un-refined style of 70's sounding tunes, I do enjoy having the cd and listening to it, hearing what he wrote had in these songs as a glimpse of the direction he was heading toward with his future music, both Solo and with the Moody Blues.
