Justin Hayward and Friends Justin is my favorite Moody Blue and he writes the most beautiful songs. Love this cd!!!! Have played it over and over and love it even more each time I listen to it. Never tire of him, his music or in fact The Moody Blues themselves. If you're a Moody Blues fan or just someone who loves good music, then you will love this cd.
nice re-package of an older CD + 4 songs
It was released in 1996 and has a orange sky with an image of Justin's face in the sky. I purchased this CD anticipating some new versions of these songs, but when I started listening to it, I noticed almost immediately the striking similiarity with the songs on a CD titled Classic Moody Blues Hits performed by the Classical Rock Orchestra. Then I compared the liner notes and there are the same other vocalists, same orchestra {although re-named the Frankfurt Rock Orchestra instead of CRO) Also same studios, producers, etc. I suspect the 14 songs were recorded in 1996 or there-abouts and only 10 were released at that time.
That said, for people who don't own the 1996 version this is a cool CD to listen to with the rich orchestral arrangements on the songs plus 4 songs that weren't on the 1996 CD (New Horizons, Isn't Life Strange, I Know You're Out There, and Your Wildest Dreams). However, if you do own the '96 CD or a 2001 or 2003 release which also look identical( song content) to this one except for packaging, maybe don't bother because the 4 previously mentioned songs aren't sung by Justin anyway, and the vocals aren't that great. There's even the same orchestra conductor.
If anyone out there owns the same CDs I do I'd like to know if you agree with these similarities after comparing the two.
