Quelle surprise!!
I have been a fan of Heart since I was 16 and they released "Dreamboat Annie". It's been four years since Heart released "Jupiter's Darling" and I am just now beginning to REALLY listen to it (my time's been taken up listening to "Hope & Glory", but that's for another review). . . (do the math and you'll know how old I am!) If anything, the Wilson sisters have matured with age, like a fine wine, and they prove it on this CD. Both are in excellent form as songwriters/lyricists and still sing as beautifully as ever. . . they're also living proof that life doesn't end at 50. . . you go girls. . . This CD has caused me to remember good times in high school and college, but is totally relevant to my life today. They're also making it easier for many of us to transition into middle age. . . entering middle age is a beginning, not the beginning of the end. These women rock and I look forward to the next installment in their oeuvre, even if I have to wait 11 years!! Isn't being a Baby Boomer excellent?.

it's all heart
highly recommended for heart fans, easy listening and powerful messages. wow! more than I expected, a great album with strong vocals.

Pretty Impressive

At 16 songs, the power and passion that is the Wilson sisters can end up being a little intimidating but for anyone who ever sang along with the likes of "Barracuda" or even "Dreamboat Annie", Jupiter's Darling is a great place to go. Opening with a rousing acoustic guitar, you are ready to hear the old world winds of "Magic Man" as Ann kicks in to sing, alas it's not "Magic Man" but for the sisters who have been making power packed rock since 1976, this is still a really welcome comeback. Ann proves she hasn't lost a bit of her vocal chops as she punches through "Make You" and then takes it down four notches for "The Perfect Goodbye", and ever since she proved what she can do on a lead with 1985's "These Dreams" Nancy (Mrs. Cameron Crowe if you're nasty) gets a few songs of her own, most notably on the acoustic "Things".

Broken Hearted
I listed to it and heard nothing I'd want to hear ever again. I'm broken hearted one of my (former) favorite bands has a CD out I won't be buying. .

The radio stations don't even play anything off of it. I only recall hearing one song from Desire Walks On (Will You Be There) played on the radio. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . sad very sad.

Jupiter's Darling Sonic Integrity
This review is strictly based on production values. Forget about musical content. If you are interested in the former, stop reading.
From a sonic standpoint, this disc is an excellent representation of compression and limiting utilized as a weapon of mass destruction. Would welcome the opportunity to hear it remixed without an overused digital limiter crushing it's emotive destiny.
Not the fault of the engineer or producer.
