Obviously the record label was responsible for the RAVE Reviews I am a Whitney Houston fan and have been dying for a Live Album. This is pathetic. I have recorded better quality music on my cell phone at a concert than this album. You can barely hear her voice on some of the tracks. Ms Houston should be embarrassed for letting this inferior quality CD to be released.
Finally, Whitney Live!!!
But, there are still hard core fans who still want to hear Whitney make a comeback. While the past several years have been difficult for Whitney Houston because of the divorce with Bobby Brown, slander from tabloid fallout from drug rumors and vices, and the death of her dad John Houston, it sometimes can be too easy to really forget just how influential Whitney has been for so many divas that we have out there now like newcomer Leona Lewis, Kelly Rowland from Destiny's Child, Christina Aguilera and Brandy, and the elegance of her beautiful voice. It has been 6 years since her last pop album, Just Whitney was released, and many want to hear her shine again. But for die hard Whitney Houston fans, there is her first live album that has finally came out.
A Song For You: Live is Whitney Houston's first live album release, and the 2007 live album, takes a trip back to 1991, when Whitney was touring for her 1990 album I'm Your Baby Tonight. The live album does bring in a nearly good medley of some of her biggest songs from that time, but could've brought out more of her big standards. Her voice is often reminded of strength of the time, where she showcases some of her biggest songs from I Wanna Dance With Somebody, Greatest Love Of All, and How Will I Know. The live album does bring in a few surprise songs here including A Song For You, a song more recognized from the late Ray Charles and her lesser-known hit My Name Is Not Susan. While the live album is fair, I honestly was hoping she could've had some more of her smash hits like If You Say My Eyes Are Beautiful, You Give Good Love and Saving All My Love For You.
Also, some die hard fans could've also hoped that songs like I Will Always Love You would've been on the album, but in the case this was recorded before her bigger songs from The Bodyguard and My Love Is Your Love were made. While Whitney Houston's A Song For You: Live isn't a bad live album for those who still are hard core fans, there are those who just want to hear a new record from her soon, and so do I. The album does work for some die hard fans, but not all of them. Hopefully, when and if Whitney Houston comes back, she can give us something that we can all say I Will Always Love You to.

Whitney Fans Deserve Better
It would have been nice to have it unedited on CD finally. In brief, this is a heavily edited audio version of the Welcome Home Heroes concert. Not sure why so much was left out. Perhaps getting the rights to all of the cover versions she did was difficult. It's edited down to mostly her familiar songs. The full-length version should be about twice this long. A real missed opportunity especially since so little of her live material is officially available on CD or DVD.
One of the Best Vocalist Live Album Finally released.
It's the first live album whitney has released from the Welcome Home Hero Concert. This album has gone unotice. You will not be disappointed.
keep it in the vault
ughhh. . what a disappointing album. I have always been a suporter of whitney and still maintain she has the best voice of anyone. problem is , you can hardly hear it half the time on this cd , her band is much louder than she is and she seems to keep sinking into the background.
live , whitney also likes to slow down her songs to almost a speaking pace in an attempt to change things up but it just spoils tracks like "greatest love of all" or "song for you".
all in all , a waste of money really, and such a waste of such a great singer! wouldnt recommend this to any of her fans- you will only be disappointed! ok , back to her greatest hits for me!.
