I Mother Earth - 'Blue Green Orange' (Universal)
Turns out they pulled in a new vocalist - Brian Byrne to replace the now departed Edwin. Canadian band's third CD - as the first time I heard this disc I couldn't help but to notice something different here. Just isn't quite the same. Don't get me wrong, title number three here isn't bad, it simply doesn't hold up to their first two efforts 'Dig' or 'Scenery And Fish' (see my review of both). Tunes like "Love Your Starfish", the decently penned "Summertime In The Void" and "Infinity Machine" is okay and all - but nothing to write home about.

Edwenless
. Not a Big fan of IME with out Edwen, Dig is the an album to own.

My 2nd favorite I mother earth album.
This album is closer in style to Scenery and Fish than Dig and Meat Dream, only with more of an experimental side, and better songs on the whole. Not quite up to the level of Quicksilver Meat Dream.

When did you get back from mars is my favorite. Summertime in the void is also great. Also check out Good for Sule. infinity Machine is pure cool.

not typical IME, but still great
I think when approaching this CD or anything by I Mother Earth since Brian replaced Edwin, one needs to understand that it is almost like you are listening to a different band. It took me a few listens to fully appreciate and understand this first effort by the "new" I Mother Earth, but once I caught on I loved it. Both Edwin and Brian are excellent singers in their own right, and they each brought something to IME that separates the "Edwin era" and the "Brian era" from each other. If you are looking for Scenery and fish volume II this is probably not a good choice for you, but if you are willing to approach this as a different band you may be pleasantly surprised. Personal faves on the CD are "love your starfish", "all awake", "good for sule", and "cloud pump". There is a nice mix of heavier tracks and softer melodically driven songs. I strongly recommend purchasing this CD. .

I Mother Earth Review
I think thier album Blue Green Orange is very good. I Mother Earth is a good band. I bought the album because i knew the song "Summertime in the void". I saw the video of that song on TV in 1999. Over all it's a good CD.
