Great Stuff I've never heard anything else the band has done. Let me just state for the record that this is my first Iced Earth CD. . . . . yet. That being said, I think this is a great band. I stumbled upon them by accident on Amazon. I liked the artwork on the CD covers. So, I searched for a possible "greatest hits" CD, and listened to the samples. I instantly liked what I heard. Nothing fancy, nothing commercial, just straight ahead heavy metal. I love the guitar work. I highly recommend this CD, especially to those like me who are just starting to like the band. Now I have to get the live CD, because I keep reading great reviews about it on here.
Macho Metal
Most of them have no structure and the singer is all in Macho style type of Vocals. The songs on the first CD of this compilation all begin slow with the tempo building up witch is very annoying for the Metal band. There a couple of good tunes here from the first two albums.
Buy Demons & Wizards Instead
I could not have been more disappointed. Having only been familiar with Demons & Wizards (the side-project of Iced Earth's Jon Schaffer and Blind Guardian's Hansi Kursch - a project which I absolutely love) I figured it was high time to check out Schaffer's prime band. If The Blessed and the Damned is Iced Earth's "Best Of", I will definately not be wasting my time checking out their other cds. This may sound harsh, but I had high expectations after listening to Demons & Wizards. Schaffer, hook back up with Hansi and make a third D&W cd. Please!.
Iced earth owns
Okay a greatest hits album seems a good place to start for new fans no Iced earth is not a band that only makes good singles but they make killer Albums so instead buy their albums many of favorite Iced Earth songs are not featured but instead buy their records the level of passion that Matt Barlow puts in his voice touches me that may sound cheesy but they do OWN DEADTH TO FALSE METAL EMO POP!! .
Iced Earth In Flames
I liked the variety they add to their music and the stories they tell. The only reason I purchased this cd is because I had heard some of Iced Earth's stuff at a friends house.
