Oozes quality!
The mini-LP sleeves are all beautiful gate-folds. I'm not reviewing the music here, just the presentation. One gripe I tend to have with the mini-LP sleeve is that there's usually no inner sleeve and the discs tend to fall out. These gate-fold sleeves are over-sized and contain inner sleeves that are nicer than many mini-LP's have as their *only* sleeve. As an added level of polish, the insides of the sleeves (where the inner sleeve insert) have artwork in them. You can't really see it unless you rip it apart, but just seeing it on the edge increases the feeling of quality.

The DVD is not packaged nicely, is non-anamorphic, and sounds lousy. But it's really just an extra so I'm not lowering my rating for it. Just don't buy it expecting much from the DVD.

Great for collectors and new fans
That's not true. First off I have to disagree with one of the reviewers who said that all the bonus tracks are easy to find on other IE releases. The two bonus tracks from The Dark Saga (The Hellspawn Remixes) are not on any easily available version of the Dark Saga at all. As a matter of fact I have been a fan of IE since Night Of The Stormrider was released, and I never knew those two bonus songs were even made. But otherwise yes all the bonuses are available somewhere besides the Dark Saga ones that is.
I haven't bought this set yet (getting it cheaper elsewhere, a whole $100 cheaper as a matter of fact, and still unopened and brand new) but I heard the dvd is a Pal dvd which can't be played on US dvd players. Though I don't know if that is true. It could be a Pal but also a region free one which if that is the case will play on a US dvd player.
The best thing about this set (for collectors anyway) is the Lp style discs and awesome packaging. Though if you just want the bonus songs, again they are not hard to find (except for the Dark Saga ones which are only available on this version), though you can find this version of The Dark Saga as it's own release. Don't know if Amazon has it or not.
I don't know much about the second disc for Burnt Offerings other than it's supposed to be the whole album remixed. I don't know if it is the same as the earlier reissue of Burnt Offerings from a few years back (which was remastered, I think is different from remix not to sure), but that too is also available on it's own release if you don't want to spend a whole lot of cash on the set just for the Dark Saga bonuses and Burnt Offerings Remix thing. Other wise it is a great IE package!.

This is for real fans
This is so fine the way they make this cd in LP way also has all the bonus track in evry album the only thing I will love they put is a book but in general this great have a great sound this remaster version and this is only for colection and for the die hard fans. this has to be the best box of a catalog of a band. .

Awesome Box Set
You get everything from their Enter The Realm Demo up to Horror Show. This is a very cool set. Basically everything from the beginning to when Barlow left. Everything comes in a slip case, and all the CDs look like mini records. They were going for a vinyl feel I guess. It comes with a little certificate of authenticity as well, so you can feel so special that you own one of 5000. Overall a great set, very much worth the money. Wouldn't recommend to people that already own all or most of these albums though, at that point it becomes a waste of money.

ICED EARTH HAS NEVER LOOKED BETTER -- A GREAT COLLECTIBLE BOX SET!
It's a very cool package, with all of their CDs (Century Media era) collected into one nifty box, cardboard sleeves for each album, great artwork, and the Live In Athens DVD. If you're an Iced Earth fan (as I am), this box set is a necessity.

Since only 5,000 of these were made worldwide, this won't be around long. And it's likely to show up on eBay at a much, much higher price in the near future. Even used.

So listen to these incredible CDs, or keep the box and sell it later. Doesn't matter. Either way, you're getting Iced Earth -- an American metal band known around the globe for producing some of the finest music in the genre.

I highly recommend this box set!.
