loveing it Billythere is not a song that i do not like and i love all his music it talks to me on more than one level i turn 75 this year and all i want is to see billy if you are an idol fan you will love this album also pegs.
Rediscovered a great one
I like it much better than I did years ago. I was going through my old tapes and put this one in. The two hits "cradle of love" and l. a. woman" are my least favorite songs on here. License to thrill, endless sleep, love unchained, prodigal blues are all great, as are several others. I like it just a shade less than the rebel yell album.
One of his best!
There are only 4 tracks on here I don't really like as much as the others, but they are still good. This is on of Billy's best albums, in my opinion. Tracks #1-6 and 11 are the best. I love the soothing sexy vocals of Pumping on Steel and Trouble with the Sweet Stuff. Prodigal Blues is one of his best songs. I don't know why it's not one of his greatest hits. Buy this- you won't be disappointed. .
a couple of hits
a. rock the cradle of love and l. woman - that's about it for this cd.
Best Billy Idol Album Ever!
It's more along the lines of "Blue Highway," than any other songs before it. He took a much edgy, more hard rock path with this album. Less punk and more hard rock. His cover of "L. A. Woman" is worth buying this cd for. This is hands down my favorite Billy Idol record. Every song is memorable with great melodies and excellent lyrics. This was a perfect match between music and lyrics. More originality, more raw, and less pop and overproduced. It's great to hear this album because none of the songs are overplayed like "Mony Mony" and "Rebel Yell" on the other albums. Songs are alot deeper and unexplored such as "The Loveless," "Sweet Stuff," "Prodigal Blues," and "Cradle of Love. " Definitely his most underappreciated and overlooked albums. Probably because it was ahead of it's time. .
