Why it's a 5 star!!! With an amazing voice of the narrator it will capture anyone and keep them listening to the CD. This CD tells what Incubus is all about. However it is not interesting just because of that, it really brings out the escence of what is Incubus. From the day of their formation trhough their struggles, the outcome is surely victory. So in short words, this is an amzing book brought to life, by the use of imagery, appealing to the senses and triggering the imagination in the mind.
What a great idea, but...
In the first place, there's a weird music at the background that is fine at first, but that repeats itself over and over for the whole 60 minutes and ends up driving you mad. While i liked very much the idea of making a long and extended bio of the coolest bands of all times, there are some details that i didnt quite enjoy about Maximum Incubus. In second place, the amount of actual interviews is very little, almost everything is just a guy talking about incubus. Only at the begining of each track do you get to hear the actual voices of the band members. Finally, in third place (and i think this is the worst), some of the info is plain wrong. For example, they clearly state that Dirk Lance and Alex Katunich are two different people and that Alex was the first Incubus bassist, shortly replaced by Dirk. Everyone knows that Dirk Lance is Alex's nickname. And like this, there are some 5 or 6 similar and obvious mistakes.
However, there are also several very good details about Maximum Incubus. For example, it comes with a poster, not a big one, but a cool one. Also, regarding the bio itself, its obvious that the person who researched the info really loves the band, because of how it is told. All in all, i'd say he did an acceptable job and i'd reccomend it to any fan of this awesome band.
Maximum Incubus
It is very good if you want to learn about the band, but I would not suggest it for a first-time listener. I own this CD and it is purely an interview with the band.
!!!IT CONTAINS NO SONGS!!!
The track list is as follows:
1. The Ebb and Flaw (Intro)
2. Music is the Key
3. Early Indifference
4. Windows of the World
5. Making Themselves Heard
6. Raging Onwards
7. The Glory of a Morning View
8. Under the Influence
9. Inide the Shell
10. A New Morning
This CD is unauthorized and is mostly a voice-over guy talking about the history of Incubus with some interviews.
Just an Interview
It does not contain any songs. I do not know what the other person is talking about, but I have seen this cd and know for a fact that it is an unauthorized release of an interview with the band. I did not listen to it so you can disregard the rating, but I thought I would let everyone know what is really on the cd.
Awesome
