find your inner hemisphere
The words that were striking became lost in endless configurations. I liked the Indigo Girls until I had so many CDs, I could not remember which CD had a particular song. Even at the beginning, for "Land of Canaan" they sing: I'm not your promised land, I'm not your promised one, I'm not the Land of Canaan. Anything that stuck in my mind seemed part of my inner hemisphere, and the Indigo Girls kept reminding me that getting closer to fine was never going to end.

Nice Early Album
The album was re-released after the success of their selftitled second album and the single "Closer to Fine". Debutalbum from Indigo Girls.

It's a fine album featuring the well-known beautiful vocals of Emily Saliers and Amy Ray. Simple arrangemets dominated by their two fine acoustic guitars.

There are a couple of stand-out songs like Saliers' "Left Me a Fool" and the cover of Chet Powers' "Get Together".

The songwriting may not be as consistent as on their later albums, but still a nice album.

Incredible
It has so many meanings - each time I listen to it, I hear more of what they seem to be saying. I don't think there's a more raw song than "You Left It Up To Me". One of my top 3 favorite songs of all time.

Favorite Indigo Girls Album!
I was beginning to think I was crazy. Thank goodness I came across the previous customer reviews of this album. All over the internet, one can find many references to the review of this album by the "All Music Guide" (for what that's worth!), that gives this album 2. 5 stars. I was beginning to doubt my taste or something.

Certainly, there are many other songs by the Girls that I like at least as well as the songs here, but this is - truly - the only IG album I can listen to from top to bottom without programming-out at least one track. ("Chickenman. " Are you kidding me? ~shudder~)

Believe me; if I was told I was going to have to live in some limited space and could only take one album from each of my favorite artists, this is the Indigo Girls album that's going with me!.

Coming Back for Seconds
There are no sub-par songs, and the more I listen to it, the more I like it. This is one of my favorite IG albums (I have them all), with some of the most deeply personal and touching lyrics you will find. Wether you are a fan or not, I think it's a must have.
