One of My Favorite Jack Albums Jack plays real, american music with a heart and sould that just isn't found in many artist today. Granted I am a huge Jack fan, but I love this album. Songs like "Fool" and "One Thing" will have you hitting the repeat button while "Goodnight Moon" is sure to be an accoustical favorite. If you are looking for more Jack, check out "Extra Volts" a follow up disc to this great collection of music.
Literate and strange.
Soulful, modern, and aggressively weird neo-redneck music.
Ok, I'm the lone "3", I guess...
His "worst" is better than 99% of what mainstream country says is "good". I dig Jack.
Having said that, sorry, but "Hey You" was so good, that this one just doesn't do it for me.
It's not that it's "bad", mind you. Just not close to "Hey You", so I give it a 3.
Jack is very creative, very original, and I remain a fan. A "3" on a Jack album is still a 4+ compared to most everything else out there.
Jack Rocks -- Literally
This album has a harder edge than his earlier stuff, and I think it is probably his best one yet. We've known Jack for a long time, and it's fun to see how he has progressed. The CD is still in our rotation months after buying it.
Jack Is Still The Best
I've got every album Jack Ingram has released. I felt that I had to write a review after reading one that claimed that Jack Ingram has lost his roots. I believe he's a VERY talented song writer and performer. I've seen him live twice. He's just as amazing up close and personal as he is on his albums.
Electric is somewhat different from Jack's previous albums. But it's STILL Texas country. In fact it's more Texas than a lot of the stuff coming out today. Electric brings to mind Buddy Holly and Joe Ely and Willie Nelson thrown into a crock pot and left to simmer. Electric has been in my cd player since I first bought it and I have no intention of taking it out any time soon.
Anyone that claims Ingram has sold out or lost his roots obviously doesn't know what Texas music is. Just because you're from Houston doesn't mean you know diddley. I wonder if those who claim Jack's no longer Texan know who Bruce Robison is. Just let me tell you that Bruce is an AMAZING singer/song writer and he's on Jack's Electric. They've written a few songs together before and I am more than sure that if Jack had lost his Texas roots, Bruce would have been the first to tell him.
If you like Texas music and you know more than JUST Pat Green, give this album a good listen. You'll love it. Jack Ingram is still the best!.
