Great metal record...Not just for the Die Hard
This record is by no means a Powerslave, however it is an excellent metal record. Iron Maiden is probably my favorite band, however I do not appreciate EVERYTHING that they have done in the past (such as not keeping Smith and Dickinson). Fans of Iron Maiden and even the casual fan (although most metal fans are by no means casual fans) will enjoy this record. AMOLAD goes from more upbeat songs such as Different World, which really reminds me of Heaven can Wait in terms of its positivity (used loosely). These Colors Don't Run is also a great heavy song. My favorite song is the legacy. This track is a VERY different Iron Maiden, yet it still manages to capture the power this band has to offer. I really enjoyed the classical sounding intro to the heavy twin/triplet leads. You must beware of a few things on this record. The songs are a bit lengthy, but I personally believe Maiden pulls of the long songs. The production quality is by no means Somewhere in Time or SSOASS, but at the same time, Maiden wanted to produce a good raw record that represents war. And you've got to remember, this is NOT ST. ANGER. The production is not nearly that bad. I personally like this record a lot more than Fear of the Dark and No Prayer for the Dying and even Piece of Mind. Overall, I think this is a great metal album. I would give it 4. 5 stars, but amazon does not have this function. If you like Heavy/traditional metal, this album is for you. .

Maiden's best work EVER
Musically, lyrically. This is Iron Maiden's best work EVER. It is fantastic. 80's are over folks . Forget about yesterday and live for today. .

"I can't be forgiven until I break free..."
AMOLAD, Iron Maiden's 14th studio album, is ther best since Seventh Son, IMO. Iron Maiden have definitely matured, and AMOLAD proves it. Whilst most of the songs use the E note as a base for the songs, it does it very well!

DIFFERENT WORLD: 8/10 This is the first single from the album, pretty catchy and overall very worthwile.

THESE COLORS DON'T RUN: 9/10: This song starts off very slow, then after that, speeds up and becomes catchy. A very good song about war. "These colors don't run from cold bloody war!!!!!"

BRIGHTER THAN A THOUSAND SUNS: 10/10 My third favorite from the album, about The Manhattan Project. When Bruce sings "Out of the darkness, Brighter than a thousand suns. . . " then after softly singing it for a while SCREAMS it, it blows me away.

THE PILGRIM: 10/10: The 2nd best song IMO. Has a very egyptian-flavored vibe to it, and the guitar solo is Maiden's best! Long live Adrian Smith!

THE LONGEST DAY: 10/10: A very intense, frightening song about WWII. Very cool.

OUT OF THE SHADOWS: 10/10: Very good slow-ish song about birth. I like the guitar work on this peice, and Bruce's voice has never been better.

THE REINCARNATION OF BENJAMIN BREEG: 10/10: Who IS Bejamin Breeg???? I guess we'll never know, but that aside, good song. I like the slow intro, and the chorus. Also a great source for moving, meaningful lyrics.

FOR THE GREATER GOOD OF GOD: 7/10: Dissapointing at best, but an OK song. Takes almost 3 minutes just to cut to the chase.

LORD OF LIGHT: 9/10: Great song that lets you imagine places between Earth and Hell, and that Lucifer is the Lord of Light.

THE LEGACY: 20/10: They saved the best for last! Great acoustic intro, plus this has Bruce's best vocal work ever!!!

So this is, IMO, their best album. If I were on my death bed, this would definitely be playing in my room. Keep up the good work guys! UP THE IRONS, FOR ONCE AND FOR ALL!!!!!!.
