One of Jackson 5's top rate; a good christmas cd to enjoy during Christmas!! :) And when I found this cd over the internet recently, I was very happy! I like this cd very much. One of Jackson 5's top rate; a good christmas cd to enjoy during Christmas!! :)
When I was younger my friend Sofi's dad had this cd on LP i remember. It is a good Christmas cd with an old sound which is creating an emotional nice atmosphere during your Christmas. Enjoy it, and put it on while doing things with family.
a trip back in time for some REALLY good holiday music
There is a good selection of Christmas songs here. The Jackson 5 could make anything into the most amazing music you ever heard; and this CD of their Christmas songs is certainly no exception. The quality of the sound is excellent; the music is nothing short of sublime--and I like that artwork, too! This is a great album for fans of The Jackson 5; and for anyone who's as shocked as I am about Michael Jackson's sudden and untimely death this is an especially important CD. This album will also help us to celebrate Michael's life and artistry with The Jackson 5 as well.
"Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" starts the CD off with a stunning number--wow, how they sing this tune so beautifully! The Jackson 5 never lets go of a superfluous note and that's incredible, to say the least. The music that plays provides the perfect accompaniment; and it gives the album a very warm opening number. Their excellent diction enhances their singing even more. "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town" has Michael Jackson singing so very well; he handles this with all the genius of a person far more seasoned than his years--his was an exceptional genius that I don't often get the blessing to enjoy! "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town" lacks nothing--this music is all THAT good. In addition, "The Christmas Song" gets the royal treatment from The Jackson 5; they deliver this with all their hearts and souls. They delve deep into "The Christmas Song" to make it glow even more than it normally does and I'm very impressed.
"Frosty The Snowman" has some excellent harmonizing; they never miss a beat and "Frosty the Snowman" makes good use of the percussion and the other instruments. Michael's vocals are just right, too. "Little Drummer Boy" has Michael really singing flawlessly; I love it. "Little Drummer Boy" charms me with its beauty and it's a major highlight of this album.
"Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer" never sounded better than when The Jackson 5 performed it; they handle this with panache and just one listen proves it! "Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer" is a timeless, fun Christmas song that really sounds so good when this group performs it to perfection--and beyond!
"Give Love on Christmas Day" is one of my favorite Christmastime songs; Michael's vocals are flawless as he gives blood to make this ballad work so very well. "Give Love on Christmas Day" is not just a highlight of this album; it's also a testament to just how natural Michael Jackson's talent really was. Even at a very young age, he could sing to make you dance for joy or break your heart--and that's profoundly rare indeed. "Someday at Christmas" is very touching and again Michael's vocals are terrific; and there's yet another gem in "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" which features Michael singing at nothing less than his very best--and when the others join in, "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" just couldn't have been done any better. The album also ends very well with Michael Jackson performing "Little Christmas Tree. "
The Jackson 5 are no longer together; and sadly we just lost Michael at such a young age. However, they gave us so much music to be thankful for; and that's grand. This CD is an outstanding album for anyone wanting to get into the proper Christmas spirit. I highly recommend this CD. .
My favorite at Christmas
Still sounds good with the added song and Michael speaking toward the end. I had this on an album when i was a kid and when the Jackson 5ive were just getting started with the hits in the 70's.
Classic Jackson 5 Christmas
I purchased this CD for my kids! Of course I have the album, the 8 track, the cassette and the 45's associated with one of the hottest, chart topping R&B groups of all time! I remember listening to this album as a kid, sleeping with the album cover under my pillow, just waiting for Michael Jackson to ring our doorbell on Christmas morning singing "Santa Claus is Coming to town"! I'm pleased to say that this CD has the same effect on my kids as it had on me! Christmas just ain't Christmas without it!.
