The greatest to ever Fire It Up, and Throw it back Down!!!
A great place to start for any new Rick James Fan!. This Anthology is a good sample of Rick's work.


Fantastic Compilation. I am glad that it is back in print!
I purchased a second sealed copy last year for my collection after realizing that Rick's Anthology was out of print. I am a huge fan of the king of punk funk and have 2 copies of the original 2002 pressing of Rick James Anthology. If you are a rock or funk fan, do yourself and pick this compilation up!!

My only wish is that Rick's out of print classic catalog will be remastered and reissued soon. Let's hope that the Anthology re-issue is only the first in a series of Rick James re-issues.


A great artist with some powerful songs
I can't believe that it's been two years since he passed away. I love Rick James. I love all of his songs. This cd has all of his songs, and it has made me appreciate his music. My favorite songs on this album are You and I, Island Lady, Fire and Desire, Happy, Ebony Eyes, and Cold Blooded. His duets with Teena Marie showcase his vocal abilities, and I can honestly say that he was an original funk artist, but when it came time to sing love songs, he did it with finesse and didn't miss a beat. .

From Mary Jane to SuperFreak to Give It To Me Baby, this contains all his best music and it reminds me exactly how great he was. This cd has all the hits on it. If you are a fan of funk and of Rick, then this is for you. Even now, all of the songs are still tight and this is an enjoyable cd to blast out of the car or anywhere really. I love it.
