All American Country Waylon & JessiI am very happy with my purchase, I have always loved Waylon & Jessi, and I ordered this for fun. . closest I could get to Leather and Lace on a cd, has not been released. . . I have been looking for years. . . excellent listen !! .
All American Country
I have her old vinyl albums and never imagined they would be reproduced on CD. I was so pleared to get my Jessie Colter CD.
I listen in my truck every day and am very happy to have them.
Waylon & Jessi shine
Mikey J. I enjoyed this CD immensely, and with ten tracks there is something here for everyone, from the standard 'Suspicious Minds' to 'Storms Never Last', their own signature tune, which is my favourite.
Great vocals and material, but poor sound quality.
Waylon and Jessi are American treasures, and the performances here are glorious. The title of this review says it all. However, the sound quality is poor. It would have been nice to get remastered versions of these hits!.
Poor recording quality
This is a budget-line CD and I did know that when I purchased it, But "Never Can Tell" is a duet where Waylon (if it really is him) sounds incredibly out of his range (very high, so high I do doubt that it's him. As a huge Waylon Jennings and Jessi Colter fan I was excited to get this CD, since there are four recordings I did not have. . . that said who else would she be duetting with?) They are not all duets either. Most sound like 'throw-away' tracks, meaning there is a reason they were not included on regular albums. There is such a small amount of Jessi's material out there that I would recommend it for the hard-core Jessi fan but start with her Greatest Hits and the "Wanted. . Outlaws" album first. I does include the "Storms Never Last" duet. She is scheduled to release a new album Feb. 28, 2006. (!!!!).
