A Tasty Little EP With Solid Tracks
It was the "teaser" for fans who were getting restless between 1996's Static Prevails and 1999's Clarity. This EP is great. It had three songs from the upcoming Clarity- Lucky Denver Mint, For Me This Is Heaven, and Your New Aesthetic (which was an acoustic demo version compared to the straight-forward rock version on Clarity). It also had two non-Clarity tracks, which could have been on Clarity in my opinion. Softer is my favorite song on this cd. It is mindblowing live, it has an amazing texture of music and vocals inter-weaving into an amasing song. Roller Queen is a song Jim Adkins (vocals, guitar) did everything on. Think folk with experimental sounds. All in all, a worthy adition to have in any Jimmy Eat World cd collection (I know, it's in mine).

awesome
i am a huge fan of jimmy eat world. this cd is great. the first two songs appear on the "clarity" album also. the demo version of "your new aesthetic" is sooo pretty and cool. "softer" is one of my fav j. e. w songs as well as "rollerqueen". all in all this is a rad ep.

a good ep, but "clarity" is better
it truly is a must-have for all hardcore jimmy eat world fans. this is a fine ep, for all you b-side craving emokids. "lucky denver mint" and "for me this is heaven" appear on the "clarity" record and are fine songs in their own right. the demo version of "your new. . . " is great. a true gem of a song. it bears little resemblance to the song of the same name that appears on the "clarity" album. a few of the lyrics are the same, but other than that, it is completely different. "rollerqueen" is a dandy, too. with it's incessant guitar harmonics and other 'sounds' , it is fantastic. i feel that it is too good to be a b-side. at the same time, it is too strange to be placed on a record released by a major label. "softer" is the only song on this ep that doesn't really do much of anything for me. it sounds all to similar to the tracks on "static prevails". a good track, indeed, but not at all spectactular. if you like this, i recommend the following: "clarity" by jimmy eat world. "songs for the brokenhearted" compilation. "foma" by the nixons, and. . . "diary" by sunny day real estate.

really good ep
The lyrics seem really heartfelt, and the songs are really great. This cd's awesome, but to tell you the truth, every JimmyEatWorld cd is awesome. It's puts you into a different mood.

This CD makes my heart melt...
The combination of music and lyrics goes unsurpassed. This CD makes my heart melt. Jim Atkins has the most beautiful voice! Although this CD is not as "hard" as the previous release STATIC PREVAILS, it is of the same quality. If you are in love with someone, I recommend listening to this CD with them. The CD is so beautiful, it will change your relationship.
