Doesn't get much better than this
This music can make a bad day into a good day. This is one of those collections of music for which I am greatly thankful.

In a world so dominated by contrived pop music concoctions, it's almost impossible to find any real music any more. Jack Johnson's music is the real thing, and this is one of his best. The liner note takes a jab at teens playing stratocasters, as if a teen playing a stratocaster is somehow an opposite of Johnson's music. I hope teens playing stratocasters take a listen to this, and try it out. We need a lot more of this, and hopefully a lot less of the contrived, overproduced rubbish that seems to perennially dominate the world of music.

there are only a handul left
This sound is not going to exist after a small handful of men are gone. Check this man out if you get the chance.

Big Jack Johnson is an honest bluesman
If you're into honest, down to earth blues this cd is for you! Big Jack is, in my opinion, the most underated electric bluesman playing today. If you're looking for a super polished contemporary blues album with a million notes per second this cd's not for you. Bassman-Steve www. quazimojoblues. com.

good mix
there are two instrumentals and the great song for long time friend frank forst" so long frank forst" a great tribute to along time friend. just like the title "roots stew" is a mixture of acoustic/rockin blues with an assortment of tunes from the uptempo "jump for joy" to the acousric front porch blues of" cherry tree".

back to the bayou
from the opening track "jump for joy" to the beautiful track "so lomg frank" tribute to the late frank forst cd is full of great mix of swamp boogie blues.
