hmmmmmmm This band reminds me of Jet, The Hives and other bands I can't stand. Comparing this band to Van Halen and Metallica takes a lot of balls. I have never seen them live and I'm sure they put on an energetic show. As for people in Sweden, I think they would agree that Evergrey is the best live band. This sounds like AC/DC light.
A modern day version of Kiss
It's about spotting a girl on the street that's so hot, you forget your own name. The Good
Effective power chords and jarring guitar licks control the opening track "Forgot My Name". "Lovercall" is dominated by a piercing bass line that's followed by some driving riffs. Jones uses a spoken-word delivery, but pulls out the melody on the catchy chorus. "Dance" is comprised of a repetitive lick in the verse sections and body-jerking rhythms that kick in by the chorus.
Danko Jones' anthem track must be "I Love Living in the City". It has a chant along hook and it's stacked with memorable hard rock riffs. "Wait a Minute" has a frantic vocal delivery and a fast-paced drum attack. "Strut" uses simple power chords and guitar licks to pump up this female anthem of sorts. It could easily become a runway model or stripper theme song. Danko opens the gates of hell on "The Cross". His angered vocals more than perpetuate his pain.
The Bad
Nothing notable
The Verdict
Danko Jones come off as a modern day version of Kiss on We Sweat Blood (without the make-up & theatrics of course); lots of anthems, party tracks, and songs about the appreciation of the fairer sex.

Canadian Pride
here is something that is good
Dank Jones
awesome cd and a band.
finally something good from canada..
wow, i'm really surprised that this album is not even released yet in the us, cause i have it already since november or so, and i bought in germany, furthermore, they're from canada. whatever
the cd is, however, an awesome mix of hard rock and great rock'n'roll, you wanna play air-guitar at every song and dance through the night.
there's like no weakness on thie cd, all songs are very catchy and that makes this album (almost) great. . maybe, the only bad thing is, that almost all songs sound similar to another song
my favorite songs are "i want you", "wait a minute", "home to hell" und the last song 'we sweat blood" all in all, this is probably the best rock'nroll band from canada. . . ever. . .
(i'd give it actually just 4 1/2 stars, but i'm rounding up, so it's 5).
HOLY GUITAR ROCK
If thie first album was a wall of guitars and drums with an accomplished studio sound, this second is an awesome, dirty gem. If you know Danko Jones, then you know these guys know how to write songs. The sound is dense, BIG and raw. This cd has no soso songs, each one is hard, rockin', and well-written.
If you're new to Danko, either album is a great place to get acquainted with the band. But the REAL Danko is only experienced live. Live they are literally the best band on the planet. Just ask anyone in Sweden.
