This classic song is the one George Jones didn't ,that's a good thing considering "the possum" was living in his car in Nashville right before he recorded, the Epic 1980 "I Am What I Am", the comeback album that featured ,HE STOPPED LOVING HER TODAY, and helped put George Jones back on the map after problems, mainly falling out with wife Tammie, speaking of comeback's ,this 2005 release is one helluva an idea, George sings some of the country hits he really did pass up from the past or present,- Randy Travis',"On The Other Hand", Bobby Bare's,"Detroit City", Willie Nelson's,"Funny How Time Slips Away", Merle Haggard's,"Today I Started Loving You Again",is one of the best country ballads of all time, sometimes you just can't pick'em all, George Jones did a great job choosing the right material for this album, may be the best Jones compilation ever, featuring fine steel guitar work from Paul Franklin, you'll agree, "the possum" never lost a step. . and there's the one George didn't miss, rerecorded, almost better than the original,a newborn classic, featuring a booklet with the disc, George explains each song and why he passed up "some" of these "hits",good thing George Jones still sings "real" country music,- a dying breed. .

George Jones
I do like to know details of CD and a price. When searching for a CD I like to know the tracks on the CD, when released. Its useful to be able to hear some of the tracks before buying especially if not heard the artist before.
I like to know when the CD to be dispatched and a likely delivery date and it is always useful to have an email when CD dispatched or if there is a delay or problem, or price change etc. I always receive my emails is good condition. The George Jones CD arrived in good condition and is very enjoyable to listen to I purchased this for a specific track for dancing too but have enjoyed the whole CD. Thankyou.

Still tops!
George is still one of the best that ever was. What can you say that hasn't already been said. This may or may not be one of his best. It depends on perspective. But in my opinion, this is a good album and very typically Old George. I loved it.

Loved this album
I wanted to hear how George would cover them - and I wasn't disappointed. I was particularly interested in this album because of the circumstances surrounding it -- at one time Jones turned down each of these songs (except for one - as the title implies), and then they all went on to be a big hits for other singers. George has a way about him, and I suppose that's what kept him on top so long. These songs are all classics and if you are country music fan, you should love this album too. .

yep
The older this man gets, the more I love to hear him sing. I swear. This album is one of my all time favorites. I also recommend checking out Kickin' Out the Footlights. . . Again. .
