Only album which includes The Party's Over
Unfortunately, it doesn't last long enough. I bought this for the song The Party's Over, which is very catchy and jams. However, I "had" to buy this cd so I could incude that song on a cd-mix.

Journey in thier prime
Neal's guitar, Ross and his mean bass, Greg and his playing, Smitty and his drums of fire and Steve Perry the voice doing what he does best sing and does an awesome job. If you want to hear a band that sings great live and plays great this is the cd to showcase those talents. I do like it when he sings different melodies rather then note for note on the records.

The Best Live Journey Album and Possibly Best Live Album Ever
One day at a mega CD store I came across it and bought it. While I may have owned Live in Houston and Greatest Hits Live before grabbing this one, I kind of didn't want it because it was pre-Escape material that wasn't interesting to me and I couldn't find it. I listened to it through and through and found that it was pretty good. Like Live In Houston, Steve Perry seems to get involved with the audience quite a bit like during Wheel in the Sky after the my, my, my part he then yells "YOU'RE ON YOU'RE OWN!!!" and the audience yells "FOR TOMORROW!!!" I just love when musicians get into their performances. The album features all the big hits from Infinity, Evolution, and Depature such as "Feeling That Way", "Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin'", and "Walks Like a Lady" along with a new live song called "Dixie Highway" and the lone studio recording which to me should have been on either Departure or Escape, "The Party's Over (Hopelessly in Love)". Obviously Steve Perry was not only Journey's best vocalist ever, but he was also the most entertaining by using his audience to sing along and to fill in songs as well as tell jokes and stories about the songs he sings. I've never seen or heard any other band use the audience as a performance tool. So if you're a Journey fan or someone who likes live albums. . . this one's the best by far.

One of the Best Live Album's Ever!
Every time I listen to this album I'm 18 years old again and all the old memories come back. I was lucky enough to be at one of the concerts this album was recorded from in the early 80's. This band sounded exactly the way they did on their albums - now dvd's. If you never were able to see them in concert (the original line up) then this is as close as you can get. I still remember Steve Perry holding the mic out to the audience during Wheel in the Sky and screaming the lyrics. It was the best. You won't be sorry.

my husband was thrilled...!
he has been a fan from the very beginning, and really likes this new one too. i bought this for my husband's birthday, as well as a rare early (pre-steve perry) cd.
