3 stars? Are you joking?
I don't know why the previous reviewer thought this was rerecorded, it wasn't. Victims of this Fallen World is a great release by Katklysm. It was simply rereleased because the old verson is very hard to find. You might not like this as much as the last couple albums, if that's what you're familiar with, but in my opinion it is just as good. In no way is old Kataklysm more "generic" than the newer albums. One part of this album even incorporates a violin into death metal. . . is that generic??

Bottom line is this is another great Kataklysm with blasting drums, catchy and brutal riffs, and the brutal and varied vocal assault that you can hear on Shadows and Dust.

Now consider the fact that you also get the live album Northern Hyperblast for the price of one cd. This is a rough and brutal live representation of very early kataklysm. I haven't listened to it enough to properly review it, but considering that Victims of this Fallen World is worth the cost by itself, this is a release that you can't pass up. .

have to admit I was disappointed...
When I heard they re-recorded 'Victims. ', I was expecting them to somehow modernize it to where it is as good as their releases 'The Prophecy', 'Epic', 'Shadows & Dust', and 'Serenity in Fire'. Earlier Kataklysm is kind of generic. Don't get me wrong, they are currently my favorite death metal band, but they had to evolve into that. Buy everything starting with 'The Prophecy' before getting this CD. This CD is just OK.

To address the reviewer following me: They DID re-record 'Victims. . . '
