A really hard to find item at a great price, will buy again from same seller.


Possibly their best album yet
I am firstly impressed by their evolution of sound, how they got better with their style of metal to sound better, and different from their previous albums. I have been a Katatonia fan for many years, and this album is what ive been waiting for from them since I heard of them. I am greatly enamoured by their originality, how I can call this music distinctly Katatonia and not a copy of another band wanna-be. I can say for certian that the three tracks have become an instant favorite in my collection, so I will be listening to this CD for a good long time. Their first track sounds somewhat reminiscent of something from "Last fair deal gone down", but its defidently an ode to, not a repeat of. The time signatures are variant and catchy, typical of Katatonia, but different in simplicity. The second track seems like a haunting lullaby with coarse riffs and deviant patterns, embellishing the sadness and haunting melody with precision and style. Their third track begs to be heard intently and loud. The sound Katatonia created for this album is well mixed and entirely fitting. This album is highly recommended for new listeners, and defidently for all Katatonia fans, especially the many who were discouraged by "Viva Emptiness" for bieng to untraditional to their older music. The progression of their music in this album almost scares me, as there are so few bands who could sound like Katatonia does on this album. Its certainly worth a listen.
