Customer Review Albert King In the 1970s It is actually a compilation of Albert King's 1970s Tomato Records titles. Well, this is a bit mistitled as "The Feeling". It is culled from Albert's "New Orleans Heat", "Albert" and "Truckload of Lovin'" sets. Highlights of this collection include "Nobody Wants A Loser" a swinging uptempo blues tune with a great horn chart, "The Feeling" a minor key tune written by Larry Hamilton, a bass player who worked with John Lee Hooker (among others), it was meant to be Albert's answer to B. B. King's "The Thrill Is Gone"- I think it is one of his best from this period, and "Cold Women with Warm Hearts" another great jump number in the style of "Natural Ball". If you are an Albert fan you probably have these tunes on other CDs (especially good is Charly Records UK release "I'm Ready", 2 CDs, if it's available). If not, this is a good introduction, at a modest price, to Albert's later work. His guitar tone and style is much like the recently released DVD: Albert King Live In Sweden. This was his phaser period with arrangements (modern at the time) in funk, soul and disco grooves. It is a fun set to listen to. .
