Kd's sequel to the classic!!

I have 10 King Diamond albums n 1 Mercyful fate album n even though they aren't all perfect songs I like at least 7 songs on each album so that's far from a bad album regardless!

Abigail 2 is the sequel to the Classic 1987 Abigail. Ok I love King Diamond's music n I have yet to find an album of his that I don't like. If u don't own Abigail then u r not a true Kd Diamondbanger but if u do then u already know the story.

This album's story is about the spirit twin of Abigail who somehow finds her way to the Mansion where Johnathan Lafey lives n sorrow, mourning over his wife Miriam who died giving birth to Abigail n the first part of this story. The Abigail n this story is 18 years old she is the main protagonist n the original Abigail(baby abigail is know known as Little One, the spirit that lives down n the crypt of the Mansion)
In the 1st Abigail album u learn about O'brian of the Black Horsemen who tries to stop the borth of baby Abigail n tries to warn Johnathan Lafey n his Wife Miriam, because if she is born 18 will become 9 n they will regret Abigail being born. Ok if I lost u by now then that means that u need to get the 1st Abigail cd to really get the whole story, anyways u r here to c if any of the music on this album is good I just wanta give u a lil Insight into the story so far, its very convoluted but if u have the 2 albums then u will get it.

Let's begin

Spare this Life- O'Brian of the black horsemen tells u about sparing the life of 18 year old Abigail because she is the spirit twin of his stillborn half sister Little One(confusing? Huh)

The Storm-I give this a 5 outta 5, The guitars r perfect n this track they follow everything that Abigail does while the drums kick n as soon as she gets lost n the forest. Abigail is being chased by something so she makes a run for it, runnin n runnin til she stops at the Mansion. . .

Mansion In Sorrow- 5 outta 5, The chorus is really good here, Abigail arrives at the gates n suddenly Little One appears n goes straight through her body(this is the situation depicted on the cover of the album) the drums pick up( 1 note I really like the drummer I think this is the best drummer Kd has had since Mickey Dee) suddenly the door opens n out comes the caretaker Brandon Henry who invites Abigail into the Mansion. She enters a shrine with 18 Portraits hanging she goes upstairs where she sees Johnathan

Miriam- 5 outta 5. Ok I know 2 n a row? U bet, this is my second favorite song. The way it starts is so sick the bass n drums work together perfectly, Abigail wanders about a dark setting then Johnathan(who now is confined in a wheelchair) tells her to stand by the fireplace, He sees Miriam in Abigail so he approaches n Asks her who she is, Abigail tells him n he can't believe the resemblance so he asks her if he can call her Miriam. . . she agrees, but she has no idea what she's n for

Little One-5 outta 5. This song is an important one, its about Little One u find out that she has been searching for her mother every night throughout the Mansion. Abigail hears Little One crying. "Mommy, Mommy" So she goes down the stairs the stairs n finds Little One who tells Abigail that she is her spitit twin from years ago. Abigail remembers the name Johnathan from back then when she used to sneak outta bed when she was 6 n listen to stories about Johnathan n Little One. Abigail has made up her mind she is goin to stay in the Mansion to help Little One find her Mommy. . . .

Slippery Stairs-5 outta 5, why u ask?, man, just listen to this sick situation! Ok first of all the Slippery Stairs are a very important element in both Abigail albums it is here where Johnathan saw Miriam possed by Little One in the 1st Abigail. I love how the guitars sound on this one n then mid break with heavy bass to let the drums play out n listen in on how Brandon Henry tells Abigail about the crypt n about Little one, she should never go down there at night where the Slippery Stairs are. . . But on the second day. . . Johnathan invites Abigail into his room, because the time is right to produce an heir! If u never heard this before I won't ruin it for u, just say Johnathan is a sick Bastard!!!

The Crypt-5 outta 5 Wow ! Abigail is pissed n is seeking revenge,so while Johnathan sleeps she goes down into the crypt. The bass is perfect here it gives u the sense that Abigail has had enough of this place after what happened. She finds a coffin with the name ABIGAIL(Little One) ahe opens it to find a mummified infant wearing a sharp necklace with wings( a nod to an earlier KD album "The Eye") she takes it n swears revenge on anybody who gets in her way. Brandon Henry sees Abigail n she cuts his throat with the necklace

Broken Glass-5 outta 5 By now u feel Abigails pain KD's vocals paint the picture perfectly for this one, while u hear the glass breaking n u wonder what's that for? All I say is Dinner is Served!!!

More than Pain- 5 outta 5 Ha Ha Ha Johnathan gets what he deserves here, he is so in love with his new Miriam that he has no clue what he's in for n this is just the beginning of Abigail's Revenge. A slow sick Song perfect guitars it gives u the sense that death is nearing. The best part is KD's maniacal laughter

The Wheelchair-once again 5 outta 5! Here we go My Favorite Track!!! Everything is perfect on this, the drums never let up n the guitars mimic everything Abigail does here. Torturing Johnathan while he slowly dies in his wheelchair. Abigail has Little One's spirit inside of her n they both are seekin revenge against him! They want to hear him scream for his life, The guitars let u know that Abigail has snapped n is goin to show no mercy! So what's next. . .

Spirits-5 outta 5 KD's haunting opening vocal "Johnathan is dead" Finally Abigail n Little One get what they wanted but at what cost. . . Abigail is so fascinated by the burning body of Johnathan that she doesn't care that she catches on fire n soon the whole Mansion is up in flames! Spirits are in the air the perfect chorus All the spitits that lived in this god forsaken mansion are now free!! Abigail is consumed happily by the flames, but. . . she forgets 1 thing. . . Little One is already a spirit she can't cross over to the other side!

Mommy- 5 outta 5 KD narrates the outcome of Little One. She wanders about the Mansion searching for her Mommy for eternity. KD tells you about the Countess(In the 1st Abigail you learn all about her) Will Little One ever find her Mommy???

Sorry Dear- The outro, Little One cries for her Mommy forever begging to go home n then a voice says
SORRY DEAR!!!!

There you have it a perfect sequel to a classic!!! This album is too good to put down n its one of my all time favorites from KD! If you are just getting into KD then this is not a good place to start, because you won't know have of the story, you will have a hard time trying to figure out the plot, So I reccomend getting the 1987 Classic Abigail. If you don't really care for the story n want this album by all means get it! Its a great addition to any MetalHead's collection Filled with memorable riffs n Sick bass lines top notch Vocals
KD music is mostly highpitched wails but they are not forced like a Crap Band from the 80's they are appropriate for this kind of Metal and you will learn to Love his voice. Its not an aqquired taste, it grows on you from the very first listen you will realize What A true Metal Singer is supposed to sound like!!!

Hope you find my review helpful, its a bit long, because I focused too much on the story, but that was important

Give King Diamond a try n you just might find your new favorite Metal band n then wonder to yourself
Where the hell have I been? I should have been listening to KD a long time ago!!!!

Not Very Good
Well maybe tied with House of God. Of all the KD albums, this one ranks the lowest.

A Disappointment
The story barely follows the previous one and is mostly incoherent. King Diamond's sequel to 'Abigail' just doesn't deliver in either lyrics or musicianship. This is not the first album you want to buy by King Diamond and, if you haven't heard King Diamond's voice before, you you may want to listen to it first as his voice ranges several octaves from very high pitched falsetto to guttural from one bar to the next. If you don't like falsetto voices then you probably won't like King Diamond. Although Andy Laroque is still the main lead guitarist, you have neither the same creativity or quality of collaboration that you had when Pete Blakk and Micheal Denner were on accompanying guitar in 'Abigail' and 'Them. ' Matt Thompson is ok on drums but a big disappointment in comparison with Mickey Dee's talent on previous works. This album is just disappointing altogether and just not worth buying in my opinion. The story and music is just average at best. Stick with the original 'Abigail' and don't waste your money on this album. .

king diamond delivers again
other than that it's a great album. well the king delivers again on abaigal 2, not being quiet as good as the first abaigal, then again why make part 2 sound the same as part 1 that wouldn't have made no sense, so i say the king did an excellent job on this album with the lyrics and music, theres only one disappointment with the cd and thats kings high notes, hes not singing much on the high notes like he did on the first abaigal. take no chance just listen to it.

Uninspired music from the King
Wow, I cannot believe that so many people have called this a great KD album. . . . believe me when I say it is not! I am a big KD fan, and love most of his work, except this album. King focuses too much on the lyrics and the story, leaving the music in the background, with no memorable hooks or riffs, throughout the album I feel as if king is reading a book with music supporting him. . . . this is what distinguishes his albums, the music. Abigail and Conspiracy where great because the story supported the music, not the other way around.

Buy this cd at your own risk. . . I did, and it was a big dissapointment.
