DON'T MATTER WHICH VERSION - IT'S KISS
detractors wanna argue that it's not original - don't listen to it. it's kiss live and no matter which version of the band it is, it still smokes. as big of an original KISS fan i am there's no denying the talent of each and every "replacement" member. so no matter which version of the band it is, still rocks. 35 YEARS and counting. not bad for band who they once said would never be around for a second album.

As Usual, Anouther Great Kiss Album
If your a true Kiss fan like I am, you will love this live concert. Kiss Alive 3 is a very good album. This composition of live songs sound similar to their original studio recordings. KISS ROCKS !!!

Sorry, okay play list but too much "cleanup"
Favorite Kiss albums include Kiss, Hotter Than Hell, Alive!, Destroyer, Creatures, Unplugged, and Revenge. My Kiss fandom goes back to 1976 and apart from the classics I really enjoyed some newer stuff like the "Rock the Nation" DVD and of course all the Kissology DVDs etc. But "Alive III" just never sat well with me. I always had the feeling, from the very first play, that it was WAYYYYY too cleaned up in the studio.

Out comes Kissology Volume 3 and. . . . guess what? The Revenge Tour footage in that boxed set is the same concert used for most (if not all) of "Alive III" and you can CLEARLY hear the differences. No doubt about it, they overdubbed A LOT of vocals for "Alive III" and it's less lively because of it.

The only track I really play over and over from "Alive III" is "Watching You. " It's great to hear that classic played by Gene, Paul, Bruce, and Eric Singer. They really were probably the most talented performing lineup overall.

I was really glad to have Eric Carr in the lineup, but as a drummer myself I'm convinced that Eric Singer was really the finest drummer the band had on stage. He's very precise and rocks hard but he doesn't go for lots of self-indulgent slamming around. Very crisp, like Alex Van Halen at his peak.

So I say, for the performances just watch 'em on Kissology 3.

Good CD but NOT the Original Alive 1 or 2
I can kinda get into it, so it'll stay in my KISS collection. This CD rocks for what it is. I've written before that i'm a biased 70's era KISS fan and i dislike the most of the 80's stuff and 90's Revenge. BUT this Live CD rocks in it's own right, i gotta say. It doesn't have that Rock and Roll Garage Spirit of the original Line up, But I dig the Energy on this disc, doctored/overdubbed or not. Again, it by no means has the raw power of the original KISS ALIVE. . . and I miss Ace on these tracks A LOT, but it's a pretty good CD for what it is.

Awsome Live Album
These live versions really kick a** !. This album has all the energy of the original Alive album with a better clarity of sound.
