Some realy good stuff, but beginners should try something else Their are some really great songs, their are some ok songs, and finally their are some $h!tty songs. To me this is a very schitzophrenic cd. This cd has everything from leibesleid which is metal, to friede which is dance, and than achtung! which god only knows what that is. I alway recommend newbies to try WW3, angst, nihil or xtort if you like metal. If you are more of a techno type try Symbols, or money.
If you are a diehard KMFDM fan like I am, than you cant live without this. Their are enough good songs to be worth the price.
Welcome- N/A just a stupid little track that last about 17 seconds.
Naive 5/10 This is one of KMFDM's more popular songs. Most people like it but its not my thing. Its got good beats, but to me it sounds like a pop song. Sorry KMFDM.
Go To Hell (Fuck MTV Mix) 6/10 Some really good music. Its not bad at all, but its just not special either. There is actually some really good guitar in this.
Virus (Pestilence Mix) 9/10 "smoke some dope-waste your brain-kick your heath down the drain" Awesome song. This is a well deserved classic.
God Like (Dog Like Mix) 10/10 another great classic from the kapt'n and his krew. The beats and the guitar are blended perfectly. There is this really cool dark sound that shows up at 1:05. I wish they would have used it more. [. . . ]Anyways enough of that rant this is a good song.
Leibesleid (Infringement Mix) 7. 5/10 Has some really good moments, but its not the best.
Die Live Later (Born Again Mix) 8/10 This one is repetitive but good. Good solo toward the end. This is a very danceble song.
Piggybank 10/10 Awesome song. Lyrics, guitar, and beat all sound great. The chorus is killer. This one deserves more recognition. I dont understand how the title track can be more highly regarded than this.
Achtung! 3/10 Sucks! They should be embarassed of themselves.
Friede 8/10 Funky industrial dance. Almost makes up for Achtung!
Disgust (Live In Seattle) 3/10 I never like live songs unless I am seeing them live at concert. They never sound that good on Cd. This is no exception.
I have heard that the original Naive Cd is much better. I will probably track it down oneday when I can spare the cash. Untill than this is a pretty decent Cd from the band.
.
And so the goodness begins..
It does have some filler, but songs like Virus, Go To Hell and Piggybank could practically sum up KMFDM's dancin'-Ministry style right there. Naive is probably the first of the albums that started to truly define KMFDM's sound. Their later albums like Angst, Nihil and Attak have better technology and many different influences that make them better, but this is where KMFDM started off on the right foot, and so far they haven't yet stopped.
pretty good
Naive/Hell to Go was not one of their high points. This album seems to really lack the same kind of feeling as other KMFDM albums. Despite this, there plenty of good songs worth buying the album for like like naive and achtung.
A botched album
Greatest songs: Naive, Die Now/Live Later (Borg Again mix), Piggybank, Achtung, Friede, and Disgust. This CD has some of the greatest KMFDM songs ever, but it also has some of the worst. Then there's the worst: Go To Hell, Virus-Pestilence, Godlike-Doglike, and Leibesleid. Find the original Naive if you can, this one is lame.
One of KMFDM's best
it has its weak spots, but it also has some of KMFDM's best songs ever. This is a pretty great album. Some of the songs are funky in a KMFDMish sort of way, such as Naive, Friede, and Piggybank. . . sometimes they almost make me want to get up and dance! Which is odd for KMFDM. Then some of the songs are just bone-crushin' ultra heavy beat, such as Leibesleid (the best track on the album, IMHO) and Virus. As mentioned, there are a few stinkers. . . Disgust is a big wad of distortion, and Achtung is just bad bad bad. Pretend it isn't there. But by all means, buy the album!.
