Rediscovered...
What a voice, what stage presence, what a lady! I bought this album as soon as I returned to the UK and there are some absolute gems in there. I had always been a 'fan' of Gladys Knight but then I was lucky enough to see her live in New York in June this year and she totally blew me away. I keep re-playing 'Please Help Me' - a song I did no know but the vocal performance is chilling, emotional and sincere. If you have ever been interested in Gladys Knight, then BUY THIS ALBUM. It deserves to have been far more successful than it was, but hey what's new there? Colin. UK .

Gladys Knight is the best!

Your fan, Michael MazakAt Last. Glayds Knight is a GENIUS with music! Her talent is extraordinary and I just love listening to it.

HIDDEN TREASURE
I don't know how in the world I missed in 2001 this CD or the duet with Jamie Foxx. I must say that this CD is a Hidden Treasure! I recently came accross this CD and have loved it ever since. The duet alone is worth buying the CD. "I Want To Be Me" is a great love song for all couples to listen to and learn from. Thanks Gladys and Jamie!.

Pure, Unabashed, Wonderful, Gladys!!!...
Then I happened to catch her in Las Vegas (her show has been ranked the #1 show by the way!. Upon my first listen, I was only mildy impressed mostly because it was Gladys and rarely does she disappoint. . . !) and she did a few cuts from the album. Her live performance is quite simply phenomenal. Then I found myself going back to this CD over and over again. While there are surely modern touches, Gladys is a legend and no amount of production can hide this fact. Her vocals are serene, touching, vibrant, forceful, piercing, and oh yes, I'm running out of adjectives. This is a classy, talented lady and if you appreciate that in an artist as opposed to flagrant and many times inappropriate expressions of the various aspects of love, sadly prevalent in much of today's music, you will cherish this product. Hats off, Gladys. . . . . . . . truly a winner!!!. . . Notable cuts are "Do You Really Wanna Know What Makes Me Fall in Love", "Rose Bouquet", a wonderful reading of Grandma's Hands because I appreciate the tribute to grandmothers, the update of "If I Were Your Woman" and the duet with Jamie Foxx. Enrich your collection by adding a worthwhile artist on a worthwhile project!!!.

GLADYS, YOU ARE A REAL STAR !
i was in las vegas some weeks ago and. 50 years in the music business; well, you can hear everything she learned in the past on this cd. . . being somebody from europe, belgium, one of the first things i saw, was a show from miss gladys knight. i didn't wanted to miss that. wow, wow, wow, that lady is great ! everywhere there were pictures of the cd cover in the city. ofcourse she sung a couple of songs from it and it made me shiver. the experience 'live' was even better, the songs, brought like it were classics already. beautiful ! yes, it's a well worth to buy it.
