two great artists that gell well
Great music and good covers of some Knopfler originals. I was a fan of both before they collaborated, and never thought of them as a duo, but their voices and styles go together so well it seems like a no-brainer. Worth getting the dvd just to watch a bit of the GREAT Stuart Duncan play on fiddle.

It's carefully crafted and very professionally filmed. this DVD exceeded my expectations by a long way. I'm used to DVD-A high res multichannel sound quality so was expecting the sound to be "so so" like so many music videos, but not this baby - sound quality is really really good. This collaboration with Emmylou Harris is just "quality" -a real treat.

S. This is a remarkable, classic concert CD/DVD Combo by Mark Knopfler, from Scotland, along with his band, and with the fabulous EmmyLou Harris, originally from Birmingham, Alabama, U. A. EmmyLou is legendary for her own music, as well as being in the late/great Gram Parsons Band, back in the early 1970's. And of course, Mark Knofler is a lengendary musician himself, going all the way back to the Dire Straits days of the 1970's.

In the DVD, Mark refers to the band as "world class musicians", and I'll totally agree with his assessment. The band is outstanding. The DVD begins with EmmyLou telling about how she & Mark got together, to do this project & their "Roadrunning Tour".

Simply Great Music!
It answers all the questions that I had about the artists motivations after listening to and loving the studio album. I just love this concert footage. I have a connection to racing and the tune Speedway At Nazareth is the best racing song I have ever heard. Mark Knopfler is superb and I wonder if John Prine wrote the song Angel From Montgomery about Emmylou Harris. Great stuff!.
