a bit weak
I love Decoder, but this is not what I would have expected. I bought this cd a long time ago, when all I knew was that Decoder & Substance were involved. Don't listen to all those reviewers saying "If you like dnb, buy this. . . . " because this is not really drum n bass. The cd is alright, and I do listen to it, but don't buy it thinking you're going to get hard dnb, because it's real weak. The music is lacking, keeping the focus on the vocals, which aren't very strong either. I would have expected a lot more from Decoder / Substance.

Defintely lives up to the hype! Portishead meets Breakbeat Era,. . actaully if you want a more DnB sound with femal vocals then try Roni Size's Breakbeat Era,. . very similar to this.

this is an INCREDIBLE cd! i looked for it for ages before finding a used copy on here, right as i was gonna buy the new one. . . . I LOVE THIS CD!

if you like Drum & Bass, and like HOT female vocals. . . . you'll LOVE this cd.


Brilliant
Sian's vocals throughout the album are superb. If you have never heard Kosheen, then you are missing out on one of Britian's finest drum-n-bass and dance groups. The classic 'Hide U' will make you get up and move. As others have said Kosheen produces music that goes straight to your legs. I could go on and on about each track on the album, but the CD really must be listened to. I would say the styles of music range from drum-n-bass to a Massive Attack or Portished sound. I only own the UK version, which has the house mix of Hide U on it (US version replaces that with Playing Games). I don't know if the US version has the Hide U video on it or not, but the UK one does. One problem with the UK version is the CD won't read correctly in computer CD drives, making the video on the disc worthless. For more reviews check out www. amazon. co. uk and search for Kosheen.


Finally it arrives !!

The entire Drum & Bass world has been awaiting this album but upon listening it has the great tracks we have already heard while the rest sounds like a cross between the Cranberries and Garbage (the band that is). Kosheen re wrote the rules for Drum & Bass when they added a female vocalist and poignant lyrics to thick bass sounds.

Hide U and Slip and Slide (Suicide) stand out but be warned some of the other tracks are not all that D&B, not that that is all bad though !.
