trancscendent finger work This CD is full of great tunes from the early years.
Leo was at the height of his powers in '72, and it shows here,(He has had to adapt to wrist problems in later years but still remains great). Leo's voice is an acquired taste (like Dylan's or Tom Waits')but he let's the guitar do most of his communicating for him. The playing throughout is insanely good but at the end of the set it rises to the level of impossible. In the Jack Fig(last) section of "Medley" you will here playing that can't be done. . . but there it is!

NO ONE Can Touch Leo Kottke's Acoustic Style!!
Too bad this came out WAYYYYY back in 1972, and it, along with his "Armadillo" CD [Six and Twelve String Guitars], are still my favorite's of his. Not since the death of THE greatest guitarist of all time, Chet Atkins, has there remained the only truly unique guitar virtuoso, and that's Leo Kottke. I saw him live, in Dallas, back in the mid-'80's and he was EXTRAORDINARY, and he played several favorites from this CD. Listen, and see if you don't agree he's the best acoustic guitarist you've heard!.
My ears are smiling
I had never heard anything like it before and it is still amazing. I had this on vinyl in college when it came out and I wore it out. I got the CD as a Christmas gift and have enjoyed repeated listenings. His vocals are different but his rendering of "Louise" is still the best one around. The guitar playing on "Busted Bicycle" and "June Bug" are awesome. If you have never heard Leo Kottke then this is the place to start.
My feet and ears are smiling
His laconic tone transports me to the days of talented original music. The hands of time don't change Leo's appeal to the senses. Encore!.
Excellent Stuff
I have the original vinyl album that I bought about 33 yrs ago. This Leo's best work. His slide guitar is excellent. I especially love the way he plays very fast and sings slow. Some cuts show classical talent and rings haunting tones that are amazing. If you like accustic guitar, this is an example of one of the best in the world. .
